New York Governor Andrew Cuomo denied that his state doesn't want a coronavirus vaccine in response to comments made earlier by President Donald Trump.
"There will be no delay" for New Yorkers getting the COVID-19 vaccine, Cuomo told CNBC, who explained that New Yorkers trust pharmaceutical companies. "The American people trust the drug company more than they trust the president," he said. However, Cuomo does not trust the Trump administration and worry they might have interfered in the approval process for political reasons. For this reason, Cuomo said that any vaccine will need to first be approved by the state's scientific panel.
Earlier, Trump said that the Pfizer vaccine will be made available to all states as of April, except for New York, whose governor stated earlier this month that it's "bad news" a vaccine arrived under the current administration.
