In the new role, Kessler will be driving the vaccination campaign to the goal of 100 million coronavirus shots in the first 100 days of Biden's administration.
As part of the US Department of Health and Human Services, Kessler will be driving the scientific aspect of Operation Warp Speed, a project launched to advance the development of the coronavirus vaccines.
