SRB higher risk profile than PAF

A sharp move down on the S&P500 last night in a roller coaster day. Initially went up strongly and then moved from 5,258 to the rising trend support level of 5,147 (down c2% intraday) ahead of jobs data today. This was the largest down candlestick for a long-time. Could be a bumpy couple of days if it falls any further, as suport levels below this are 4,600 (-11%) and 4,100 (-20%). Ouch!

Given the vertical ascent of the S&P500 for 6 months driven the Mag-7 (now Fab 4) its likely to be even more dramatic on a correction in my view (i.e. up the stairs down the escalator). I get the feeling that this run is coming to an end (before we get to the summer) given concerns over whether the Fed will be able to reduce rates, gold soaring and the 10-yr having moved from 3.8% to 4.3% this year. The market is hinting to the Fed that rate cuts are not yet needed in the US given the strength of their economy driven by Biden's deficit spending.

This is something to watch closely as UK shares will also be heavily impacted if this corrects.

The Conservative Party, the governing party of the United Kingdom led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, is said to be on track for a poorer result during the general elections than when the Tories lost to Labour's longest-serving prime minister, Tony Blair, in 1997, the latest poll by the YouGov showed on Wednesday.

Labour Party and Opposition leader Keir Starmer is projected to secure over 400 seats in the House of Commons, whereas Sunak is expected to attain fewer seats than the total of 165 seats obtained by former Tory Prime Minister John Major in 1997. The election could "sweep away" several major Conservative figures, including Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt, the agency highlighted.

The poll results were derived from data analyzed by YouGov, which surveyed 18,761 British adults interviewed between March 7 and March 27. According to the model, Starmer is expected to win 403 seats nationwide, while the incumbent prime minister could secure just 155 seats.

Former United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday promised that upon returning to the White House, his initial action would be to repeal the electric vehicle mandate implemented by the incumbent Biden administration.

"I want people to buy electric vehicles...but I want them to be able to buy every other form of transportation. I want you to use gasoline a lot because we have more gasoline than any other country in the world," Trump stressed during his campaign rally in Michigan.

"We have hundreds of thousands of cars electric - they can't sell them. People don't want them," the former president underlined.
