An unnamed NATO official quoted in the Wall Street Journal claims 40,000 Russian troops have either been killed, wounded, or have gone missing - more than a fifth of its fighting force.

Western leaders believe Russian losses sit between 7,000 and 15,000 troops.

Russia has only officially admitted to losing 1,351 soldiers - a figure given on 25 March.

It’s impossible to independently verify these claims,

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky handed over the questionnaire for EU accession to a representative of the European Union on Monday, his office announced. "It's an important signal. We believe that we will gain support and become a candidate for admission. After that, the next, final stage will begin. We very much believe that this procedure will take place in the coming weeks and that it will be positive for the history of our people, given the price it paid on the path to independence and democracy," Zelensky stated.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal added that Kiev is already integrated into the EU electricity grid and that it will now work with the European Commission "on the integration and joint network of free roaming and free payment space." Ukraine previously said it expects to gain candidate status in June.

If Britain had remained in the EU, Cornwall would have got £300m over the next 3 years in structural funding. Instead, the UK government is giving Cornwall £132m, ie £168m less than if we'd Remained. Another Brexit promise broken and another example of how we're worse off out.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared on Friday that Ukraine has lost between 2500 to 3000 troops so far due to the Russian military operation in his country.
During an interview with CNN, the Ukrainian president mentioned that the Russian military suffered more casualties in the ongoing campaign, losing between 19,000 and 20,000. "But we have about 10,000 injured, and it's hard to say how many will survive," added Zelensky.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that Russia had lost 20,000 personnel since the beginning of the military operation.
