German Chancellor Olaf Scholz insisted on Tuesday that his country would overcome the energy crisis and make it through the winter if businesses and people adapt to the constrained energy situation.
Delivering a speech at an engineering conference, Scholz stressed that "if we all continue to adapt to the changed situation, the citizens, the companies and the politicians, then we will get safely through this winter."
Germany's gas storage is about 95% full, he added.

The Bank of England announced on Tuesday it would undergo an expanded three-day bond-buying operation to curb market volatility before it ends all gilt purchases on October 14.
"The purpose of these operations is to enable LDI funds to address risks to their resilience from volatility in the long-dated gilt market... These additional operations will act as a further backstop to restore orderly market conditions by temporarily absorbing selling of index-linked gilts in excess of market intermediation capacity," the British central bank noted in a statement posted on its website.
This is the second consecutive move from the bank, as it yesterday unveiled additional market support measures.

Traffic across the recently attacked Kerch bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula with Russia has partially resumed, the Russian transport ministry announced on Saturday.
Limited road traffic on several functioning lines was enabled for vehicles, excluding trains, although crossing in alternating directions is still restricted, the ministry explained.
The news comes after the bridge was hit by a massive explosion earlier on Saturday.
