Major stock indexes in the United States reversed course on Thursday, entering into the red territory as the Dow Jones dropped 200 points with investors taking in the latest batch of economic data, as well as Federal Reserve Jerome Powell's most recent comments.

The Dow Jones tumbled 0.61% or 218 points at 3:00 pm ET. The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.27%, while the S&P 500 declined 0.54% a minute later. The euro traded 1.03% below the dollar, going for 1.09714 at 3:02 pm ET.
