Trafigura tanker hit in latest Houthi attack26 Jan 2024 20:47
Marlin Luanda, a petroleum products tanker vessel operating for Trafigura, a multinational commodity trading company, was hit in the latest Houthi attack with a naval missile in the Gulf of Aden, the company's spokesperson stated on Friday.
According to the spokesperson, "firefighting equipment on board is being deployed to suppress and control the fire caused in one cargo tank on the starboard side," adding that they are in constant contact with the vessel and the crew.
Earlier, Yemen's Houthi rebel group claimed this strike, describing it as a "continuation of their attempt to support Palestinians amid Israel's hostility," fighting against the United States and United Kingdom's "aggression."
