NATO' Stoltenberg raises concerns over Trump's recent remarks11 Feb 2024 19:49
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed concerns about former United States President Donald Trump's recent comments.
During a recent rally, Trump suggested that Russia should be allowed to act as it wishes against NATO members failing to meet defense spending targets. "You didn't pay? You're delinquent? … No I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want," Trump stated.
Stoltenberg underlined NATO's commitment to a united defense and warned that any notion of allies not supporting each other undermines collective security, placing American and European soldiers at increased risk. The NATO chief asserted that, regardless of the presidential election outcome, he expects the US to remain a strong and committed NATO ally.
