True story…
You know when I started investing I came across a company that seemed to have a superb business model, I had £10k to my name, and I stuck the whole lot in.
Things took a turn for the worse not long after, the CEO gave contradictory reports, numbers didnt add up, something didnt smell right, but My 10k was down to 8k and I didnt want to sell at a loss.
A month later and it had plunged, my 10k was then worth £4,500. I was distraught. I had to decide, do I let my ego run, and hold the position potentially to zero in the hope it recovers, or do I swallow my pride and sell, at a 55% loss.
I sold.
The very next day the company went into administration (LION Lionsgold)
The company I put the funds into ended up going up 7000% (GGP) and after a few other trades I was sat on a half a million.
My ego was 24 hours away from costing me everything.
If you are sat on a fat loss, do not let your ego cost you everything, instead realise that you paid “x” amount to learn an expensive, but very valuable lesson.
