Looks a bit like yesterday was just an excuse to buyback a bit cheaper.
With record profits expected next week and
Possible redirecting to only target green projects that make better returns and
Numerous reports trying to stir up a takeover
And reports that US and UK and probably EU recessions will not be as bad as feared.
It’s hard not to be very positive .
It should be the start of something big for BP

BP p.l.c. (the "Company") announces that on 1 February 2023 it has purchased, in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Company, a total of 3,201,333 of its ordinary shares of $0.25 each ("Shares") on the London Stock Exchange and Cboe (UK) as part of the buyback programme announced on 1 November 2022 (the "Programme") and as detailed below:
Highest price paid per Share (pence): 496.60

Lowest price paid per Share (pence): 486.90
Volume weighted average price paid per Share (pence): 492.1834

Acceptance that it’s time to look at their 5 year plan and change the direction could be the beginning of a re rating of BP.
The landscape is now very different from when they started.
In so many ways it looks like time for a change of strategy.
Just my opinion.
And we hopefully will find out next week

That’s something I would like to see a progress report on.
With Alaska sold and Rosneft no longer considered part of the company.
And Algeria sold( and probably several I have missed)
Also Iraq and Angola now new separate companies so off book.
We must be a large part of the 40% reduction already.
But it would be good to know how far we have to still progress
