Secondly I was not targeted I retired at 60 which was when I joined the standard retirement age.

Thirdly never have I been bitter and twisted, BT were a great employer.

Finally, all my TEAM MEMBERS clubbed together to get me a very nice and expensive watch when I RETIRED and some still keep in contact rueing the day I left them as they in their (not there) own words still say I was the best manager they’ve ever had.

Wisdom comes with age and experience and should never be ignored my dear friend.

I have experience of TEAM MEMBERS, 43 years as a matter of fact, I was one and ended my career managing them. In my opinion there are some that cruise, some that do the least they can get away with, some that play the system and a FEW that strive to do a days work.

The Old Guard are still in force who think BT owes them a living, there are many who drew their pension and continue to “work” not until these are gone will the company move forward…

Same here, paper cert in my grubby mitt, my ComputerShare account shows my holding with my nominated bank details, confused of Peterborough....

Just been on my ComputerSahare account and it shows my holding in Evraz, WRT the letter from Evraz, yes I got one and have filled in my bank details in the hope that when/if trading recommence I’d be in with a shout.

The BEST, the VERY BEST ever Sharesave scheme was 63p/share that ended 2015, how do I know, well I retired in 2015 with 23090 shares at this price from a 5 year scheme, guess it cost BT sheds loads of dosh to bridge the gap....hey ho!

Can only agree, I worked for the GPO/BT then Openreach for 43 years, started as an apprentice in 1971, left as a Level 1 manager on Openreach as on OM.

I have NOTHING but praise for the company, they treated me with respect and compassion when needed, my pay and conditions were second to none, EVERYTHING I own or have owned are due to my employment, don't get me wrong, there are failings in the company, most of which are due to some employees thinking the company owes them a living, well get real it does NOT, you play your part and the company will reward you with good pay and conditions, if you disagree then move on, don't bring down the company....

Notwithstanding the above I can understand some employees discontent, however there are not many other jobs where the engineering force only have to provide their underpants and lunch to go to work, so think on is it worth killing the golden goose????

Having worked for the GPO/Post Office Telephones/BT and ending 43 years of employment with Openreach I feel I have an insight into the T&Cs of the employees...

Field engineers only have to provide their lunch/underpants and socks everything else is provided by the company, PPE, Tools, Corporate clothing etc etc, all have the option to take their vans home (no second car needed) they are paid the going rate for the job yet they still complain, there is a legacy of the civil service running through the company and it’s about time senior management grew some b*lls.

Seems not many leave to find a better job so that speaks volumes
