Might have jumped the gun a bit here re Corcel Avonmouth developments... Turns out the site will be co-owned with two others companies, one being Voltalia. It appears this site is one of their new developments for battery storage.. see attached. Article suggests this project will cost Voltalia £15mil. www.voltalia.com/case-study/hallen
From Corcel themselves - 'Co-located at the site are two other projects, a 33MW site being developed by a third party (this is Voltalia), and a 15MW site expected to be made available for a generation or battery installation over 1.38 acres.' - I hadn't seen this until now.
'Through a joint venture with the Low Carbon Alliance, Electric Land has completed the letting of phase 1 of the Avonmoth Energy Park to Voltalia. The park was leased for 25 years, and has planning permissions, grid connection and a capacity market contract for the battery storage facility.' - Find it quite positive the site is being referred to as Avonmouth Energy Park.
So it looks like Corcel would get to develop the backmost section of the field shown on page 10 of their Q3 2021 presentation.
Could someone explain why Corcel still refer to the Avonmouth Gas Peakers site as being ‘shovel ready’ and awaiting financial close, when work has long since started and there are multiple BYD Energy Storage System containers installed on site…
So the other likelihood is that they only have half of the plot, and another company/contractor is developing front half of the plot.. but like in the photo on their presentation it includes the development at the front side of the plot near the road.

Most pics are from early Oct, with two being from Yesterday where you can see the large greyish modules.
Hi all,
Mentioned previously I work down the road in Avonmouth and there’s been significant progress on what I can only assume is the proposed gas peakers site. Is there any way I can attach or link pictures on here?
I understand people are saying how can developments be happening when it hasn’t been signed off or handed over but it’s in the exact time plot of land they show on their arial photos…
Happy to be told otherwise.
Following this up, bottom right of page 10 of their latest presentation shows the current progress of works at Avonmouth.

Like I mentioned there is construction works going on along the whole of this estate.. but looking at the arial photograph on Electric Land's article about the site development, the field they show is the field directly behind my building merchants where work has begun.. It could be as simple as the contractors in at the moment are doing the basic infrastructure works for site access and so on. I only get to glance over as I drive past but I'll pull in next time.
Will update when I've had a closer look and will try and make contact with the site ops.
I work in construction down the docks in Bristol and one of the suppliers I frequently visit is UCS on Severn Rd, Avonmouth, in the yard directly behind the 5 acre site Corcel have recently acquired, there's a lot of construction works going on down this estate especially with the Avonmouth Resource Recovery Centre soon to be commissioned. But from what I've seen the site Electric Land/Corcel have got, groundworks and foundation/concrete pours have already begun. I'll take a closer look next time I go by, I can probably talk to some of the site ops there and see what's going on progress etc.
