The dividend is NOT taken off the share price. The money for the divi is sat somewhere in a bank. It has an impact on the NAV of a company amongst other factors. Once divi is paid the NAV also goes down. That is then followed by people usually selling and SP finds itself lower taking the new NAV into consideration.

Now if we’re we’re around the £6 mark and divi was paid then yes we may find ourself 37p lower in SP.
Considering the SP is soo out of kilter already there is no chance of it falling by the divi amount after it’s paid.
If non of the shareholders sold after divi was paid the SP wouldn’t change.
In short the divi isn’t a straight subtracting the divi payout amount from sp

Not the most knowledgeable here but I will throw my opinion out there anyways :) the £1.81 was taken out therefore IF the demerger is over it will be put back for evraz share holders.
The real question is whom will the value be given too as there are two groups of evraz holders imo. Group one that held shares when the value was taken out and group two whom have bought in since and never lost that value.
Personally I think that value will go to group one as that’s the only logical thing to do. Even though I’m a group 2 and would love to be wrong I don’t see it happening.

As such I don’t see the share price shooting up on Monday. Well not instantly anyways. I do think due to the dividend which by the way I fully think will be paid the price will go up on the less on Monday onwards.
This is definitely a once in a life time opportunity to buy into a company waaay undervalue threw no fault of its own
Just go take a look at Amazon and the .com crash and things will become clearer
