RE: Drone4 Feb 2019 20:24
Can’t believe Drone is questioning why the share price has tanked since 2009. Hasn’t he done any research or is he/ she blindingly ignoring the following
1. 10 year ago the oil price increased significantly and went over $100 and stayed there for a few years
2. OPECs war against shale which brought about the great oil price fall
3. Big change in sentiment to “risk on assets”
4. TLW isn’t the only oil producer to see its share price falll significantly over the last decade
5. Commodity supercycle downturn
6. All the above have had an impact on sentiment which drive the share price of some oil stocks
7. Withdrawal of the dividend
8. High debt.
However, in recent years TLW has been repairing its balance sheet, reducing debt, and most importantly has assets in some of the hottest oil regions in the world - namely Guyana, Ghana. Guyana will be huge, mammoth in fact. Ghana still got plenty to come. Kenya is low cost land based and in a few years will bear fruit.
If TLW farm out their 60% of Guyana that in itself will wipe out any debt.
So in my opinion if oil gets back to $80, £3 will be cheap
