RE: Exit strategies of Long Term Holders22 Apr 2020 17:40
Personally I'm here for the ''take-over'' (hopefully at a huge premium over current SP) whenever (and IF) it comes.
I too have amassed a current holding of 2m shares over the last 6 years, at a 1.1p average, so currently sitting on more money than I have ever seen in my entire life.
However, once I am no longer needed to care for my dear old dad, at the age I am I (55) I will be pretty much unemployable in my previous career, therefore this one has to give me enough to live on albeit modestly (i.e. cover my day to day outgoings) gong forward (a ''pension'' you could say).
GGP is by far my largest holding (all of the others are total Dogs!) so after NM walked my portfolio was showing such a huge overall loss that I made the decision to carry on regardless and rather risk losing the lot (my inheritance from my late Grandfather) rather than lock-in such a huge loss (i.e. Siht or bust!)
I'm so glad I did, and it is that decision that keeps me invested here (I've never sold a single GGP share) even when the price has started to fall! (as well as Paddy's excellent research and that of other great posters on this BB!)
If we don't get an offer in the near future (that removes the worry over when best to sell) and IF we get to around 20 - 30p I may be tempted to sell half, which would hopefully give me enough to live off of until some of the other tenements GGP has are proven up/sold, hopefully propelling the sp on to greater highs / paying dividends upon production in years to come.
Anyway that's my ''strategy'' for what it's worth, but at the moment at least everything looks as if it is ''going to plan''.
GLALTH's, it certainly looks like 2020 could (finally) be our year!
