Fully agree SAS, but unfortunately IMO it's going to be all about keeping the ''big boys'' happy as we move forward with SD's ambitions for the company and the PIs like us who have backed them since the early days will become increasingly insignificant!

One other thought (but only because my late father's Financial Advisor suggested it a while back when it became apparent we were being heavily shorted down) is might someone (Andrew Forrest, et al) attempt to take GGP 'Private' whilst we are so undervalued.

I still feel we are about to get sidelined and “robbed” of the full return we should be getting for providing GGP with our hard earned and years of support, not to mention Newcrest still seem to be clearly co cking us about too!!! :-(

Agreed. But will they be looking out for the interests of we loyal LT PIs who backed GGP in the early days, or will we be just pushed aside in favour of Oz Based IIs and corporate investors who can help them realise their ambitions for GGP at our expense?

Only time will tell barna (and it's out of our hands anyway, whatever he decides to do!)

No greed here, just wanting to help my whole family!

I could have 'retired' comfortably had I sold up at the ATH in 2019/20 (which my brother begged me to do at the time!) but I wanted to hold on so that he too could leave the hell hole that is corporate life (I had already escaped, after leaving work to care full time for our late father in May 2016) and that is the ONLY reason I held out.

I know that he now feels guilty having seen where we are now (despite me telling him that it was my decision and mine alone) so here's hoping we can see those sp levels again (or greater) in time?!?

Agreed Panama, and if my memory serves me correctly weren't there rumours that the Newmont Geos (i.e. those closest to the results of the 6 month ''EG sniff about'') not best pleased when the 'powers that be' back in the US of A said ''not at this time''?

Whilst I'd love to be able to hang around for the next 3 to 10 years to see where this takes us I cannot say that it wouldn't be a relief somewhat to see the decision to sell taken out of my hands (as I could well do with the money within the next 12-24 months or so if I am to be able to hang onto my late father's house (the family home in which I grew up).

So long as it isn't for a relative pittance though (as has always been my fear since we started to be heavily shorted) and hopefully north of 45p (which would see me no worse off than had I sold out at the ATH in Dec 2019/Jan 2020, having already sold a tranche at 18.1p a couple of years ago now).

Shaun's ''eye watering sum'' (of a £1 or more) would of course be even better!

Newmont spent 6 months crawling all over EG and then tied us into a NDA. Why would they bother to do that if there was nothing there?!

They also said ''Not at this time'' when they 'walked' so could the right time be coming?

And let's not forget we own 100% of EG (no JV partner)

I know how you feel Drover. My first buy was in July 2014 - 240,060 shares for £1,025 (0.42p)

Having invested £59k odd in total over the following years (including 12.8p highest paid for 290,296 shares within my Pension) had I invested the entire amount back in 2014 I'd have had 14,047,619 shares (and would have most probably sold some at the ATH).

(Hindsight and all that!!).

9 years this July (current average of 1.1p) with a total of 2,004,528 held shares across an HL ISA and my Aviva pension.

Sold 281,768 shares back in July 2021 for 18.1p, to invest in SAR, so basically on a free ride now and holding for the foreseeable future (unless we are looking at a consolidation, in which case I will reconsider).

I wasn't invested in SXX (fortunately) but certainly feel for those who were!

A lesson in what could happen as I remember reading a story in the press about an elderly lady who had written to the CEO thanking him because her family's life had been changed by the share when all was going well (she was c.£700k up) but I suppose she probably lost it all in the end too?!?

A hard lesson in what could happen, but after nearly 9 years invested here I still have confidence in SD and where GGP are going (for now).

Hopefully it will be a 'Compliance Listing' and from what I understand that means that all buying and selling still takes place on the AIM but it allows Australian IIs etc. to invest.

Chris Fraser, the former CEO of Sirius Minerals, agreed to the take over by Anglo American (on the cheap IMO) and was ''rewarded'' with a role as Group Director, Strategic Projects at Anglo American in return (again IMO).

In other words their CEO looked after number one - that's what you missed.

(Just praying that SD is different!?)
