This stock held well at £2.00 2 months ago I got out on the way up on the back of what was an obvious fake rumour to get the market moving again.
I think the SP may drop another 5% but it will come good over the next few months. So for me it's time to get back in.
Sit tight ignore the noise and wait for rewards.
When this share was on the rise I posted on here saying beware of shorters bearing gifts, I said that the article was probably fake news, generated as the stocks weren't moving and it gave the shorters opportunity to attract some more private money to get hold of.
I was told quite vocally I was wrong, I may well have been at the time it just seems too orchestrated, I still believe this share will return £3-£4 but suspect it will be around March 2020. I do hope at some point the shorters will burn but I suspect they have the story planned out to leave quietly like they do with most investments they make.
It's a little worrying how quickly a few Algo trading can make this drop, it's still very fragile we could see £2.25 again, but still think best to hold till early next year when it will look more attractive to a buyer.
Not sure if anyone has been monitoring the volumes over the last few days, despite the swings, none of the buys or sells would make much of a change to the shorts holdings or to anyone who was willing to buy the business. Surely if someone was looking to buy or get out the volumes would be big. This seems to be PI,'s and Algos doing the work. I still think it will be 2020 before we see anything happening on this one.
I sold out on Friday at £2.25, having held Metro for several months and suffering 20% losses. As the price went up into £2.30's I felt a bit stupid having being loyal and believing in this company. (Still do as a company, but that's different to an investment)
Saying that I am sitting here thinking I may have got out a bit too early but I think I may have made a good call.
We know the Media have been controlled by the shorters for many months now and the price has been controlled by them.
The lack of movement in the market must have been worrying for them, low volumes and no exit strategy.
What this share needed was a fake rumour to get things moving again and what better way than through the press.
If Lloyds was generally interested in this bank, dont you think the big investors would know and this SP would have shot up to £3 minimum.
Do you think there would have been some big trades piling in, look at the volumes. They are small fish (PIs - probably newbies piling in)
Metro have lots of new customers, customers who belong to Lloyds and the others, this big banks dont want Metro around and may be in on the game... what reaction to the SP if Lloyds deny those rumours tomorrow or Monday. Also a bit of deflection away from Lloyd's bad PPI news may not be a bad thing.
Combine that with an attack by the Algorithms next week and this is sitting near £1.50 again.
I am relatively new to this game and no expert but I got burnt when this happened at just over £3.
I hope I am wrong but I cant help but think there is a trap here and you are all wheeling in the horse and partying thinking this game is over.
Play this game with your head not your heart, the world is corrupt and the hedge funds are clever and more corrupt than most, that's how they got wealthy. They also have deep pockets and may even be paying some of the rampers on here to draw a few newbies in.
Good Luck everyone, I will buy back in on this one if the chance presents but I think there is a few more months of turmoil and pain yet to come.
It's just my opinion I could be wrong but tread carefully people.
I have been in Metro for a while but decided to get out at about 11% rise. I do think Metro will come good but I think this story was manufactured because the shares weren't doing a lot. I think a lot of today's money was PI but having lost a lot on this I wish everyone luck. If it falls back I will definitely come back in as I think £3-£4 will easily be hit next year but what do I know my track record here isnt great. DYOR
