Positive EBITDA for 2016; Q4 profit17 Jan 2017 10:57
Let's be realistic...AL gave no hints on the financials in the Q3 production update and was never going to in this production update...my guess is that people with unrealistic expectations on the content of this RNS have been panicked into selling. There was a buy on the off, then a string of sells, since when weak holders have been shaken out.
Here are the revised calculations I've posted elsewhere. AL gave us enough info to work out a close estimate...
Possible financials for Q4 and FY 2016...
Calculated an average copper price for Q4 of $2.38, so...
8938 tonnes of ore produced, and an average cost of production of $1.88, gives a Gross margin of $0.50, so Gross Profit is:
8938*2205*0.5/1.08 (average Q4 value of Euro) = 9.124m Euros
Less Admin Costs of 4.500 and Exploration costs of say 0.200 for the quarter, leaves EBITDA at 4.424m Euros
Accumulated EBITDA for the first 9 months was (1.577m) Euros so I calculate that we have positive EBITDA for FY 2016 of 2.847m Euros, equivalent to £2.240m (translated at a period end 0.85)
Meanwhile, looking at Q4 figures alone, after Depreciation and Amortisation of say 2.5m we have a Pre Tax PROFIT for the quarter of 1.824m Euros, or £1.55m
And the accumulated loss for the year would be about 6m Euros, or £5.1m....
Pretty damn good!
