Interesting assumptions...

First, with the widely held industry views that copper will boom, I think SOLG should be using at least $4 a lb as the copper price hasn't fallen below $4 for 14 months...

As to your suggestion that copper will outperform gold, I suggest you read a welter of studies suggesting booming gold pricers, starting with Pierre Lassonde of Franco Nevada

"Medium-term, gold is headed towards $2,200 to $2,400 an ounce, Lassonde said. Long-term, over the next five years, the Dow to gold ratio could converge to 2:1, should the Dow Jones contract by 20%-30%. This would imply a $10,000 gold price"

NMS is 20,000 shares but I'm firmly bid for 220,000...I can't remember the last time it was less than 150,000 and usually in the 200ks...

Is it one fund, or Norge Bank or BHP or just solid demand from people expecting a result in May...

So...huge UT...38.45 is a 16 month high...only 3.7pts more for a 5 year high...

On the subject of bidding for Alpala...

The TSX market doesn't think so...CGP $4.55 which values them at $167m CDN...i.e. £100mn....

Based on Turquoise Hill their stake in Alpala would be worth at least £300 million so I don't think the market expects that...

Especially as CGP also have a 6.7% stake in SOLG worth $100m CDN...

Market still bidding me for 250,000 shares and ONLY 0.24 below the Quote (i.e. 37.16 cf 37.4)

Despite our recent steady rise there seems to be an insatiable demand for shares...

Using the Turquoise Hill RIO metrics would value Alpala at c£2.5m of which we would get 85% = £2.15bn

Thats 94p/share...

And to reiterate...

No matter how bullish you are about 'the next cab off the rank' and the other cabs, the market is currently allotting an NEGATIVEvalue to these projects...just look back at the Share Price response to announcements over the last year or so...

And I say again...

If the Board accepted a bid of say £1 for Alpala, what's to stop BHP coming back with a bid of £1.10p for the WHOLE company...

Right now, our bargaining chip for a bidding auction is Alpala...that is what starts the auction which could end at £2...

WRONG BOARD!

Shark...IMO allowing BHP/NCM to pick off Alpala will work against achieving maximum value for shareholders.

1 The market is putting no value on the non Alpala assets ATMO, so what value would it put on them post a Alpala takeover.

2 I believe that if it is agreed that they could buy Alpala they would then launch a successful low ball bid for the whole of SOLG...

If there is instead an opening bid for the whole if SOLG before or after the PFS, an auction could achieve up to £3, especially with stonking drill results from the other prospects as part of a bid defence...

As the Colonel has pointed out...Noront pre bid 25 cents; final successful bid 110 cents...
