Just listened to the presentation and Willem's comments regarding Paddy's details and it showed Paddy's tweet. It was great how he used it so that he did not have to fully give his own opinion - they call it the third party sell! Well done Paddy! Did you notice there was no arm movement because he was sat on his hands!!!! Amazing out of the park!

Listening to DL interview - he says at 2.51mins when referring to Havieron - 'it is going to be VASTLY LARGE'
What a great term - is that more than very big? Is it less than bl***y huge? How does it compare to ginormous?!
Lets hope for a great week

Hawkspear thanks for this comment. It doesn't always reduce taxation though as there is CGT and income tax to pay in the trust which can be considerable - everybody's circumstances are different so it needs specialist advice.
Sorry Jet

Same problem Paddy but at least you can be a bit more cavalier in the SIPP if you are going to only lose 45% of the investment!
Also remember chaps that, generally, the SIPP does not get taken into account for IHT purposes but your ISA will if your estate is over your IHT limit - so potential of 40% IHT . So make sure you spend it all!!!!

As far as i am aware the tracker fund paid 27p to acquire the number of shares they needed. The market never hit that level and it was 5 or 6p lower that day.
People putting money into this fund have paid 15-20% more for these shares on the small section of the fund. The fund managers though have a duty of care to these investors and to execute deals accordingly.
With the rumours circulating do you think that people were aware of any potential news when they paid these high prices. Were they more informed than this board for instance. If this happens for all shares going into a tracker fund then investors are being heavily disadvantaged!!
Does anybody know anything about this?

Listening to BRR interview
https://www.brrmedia.co.uk/broadcasts/5f3cde54b14d872626439287/greatland-gold-commencement-of-drilling-at-scallywag-prospect
He says results of drilling 6-8 weeks. So 6 weeks is 30Sept. Magnetic Survey finding earlier though.
He also mentions the 3 leg strategy he has and at 1.50min he mentions leg 3 - capitalising on existing assets, alot of work in the background. Why does he mention this when reporting on commencement of drilling at Scally? Could be some left field news yet! Have a listen and see what you think.

Interesting in the NCM presentation that Patterson East is clearly marked and that it is in hitting distance of Telfer and that they obviously have first refusal on it in terms of a potential resource! Is this why GH wanted to do a few drill holes in each target and then do joint ventures with whoever but more likely to be NCM? He must have a bigger game in mind.

If you have say a value of your GGP shares of £500k, would you feel comfortable investing that same amount into GGP if you currently held no shares in GGP and that was the majority of the money you had. If the answer is no then you need to consider slicing! It does not matter who is right or wrong, this is still AIM and anything can happen. What if GH or CB dissappear, or Sandeep moves to Rio or Rio buys Newcrest?

As I started this thread it is obvious people do not know the rules around life time allowance etc. I urge you to go to the GOV website and research them for your circumstances and make informed knowledgeable choices. Yes if you are still bamboozled go to a pension adviser. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Spratt - good to hear your SIPP is doing well and you are less than 55 - I am older so can take the tax free cash. Anything over the lifetime allowance of £1,073,100 (indexed each year) is taxed at 25% if used for income but then you will pay 20% basic rate tax as well, so 45% total tax. If taken as a lump sum this is taxed at 55% which is likely to be on death or at 75 as these are chargeable events. Check out the GOV site(search lifetime allowance) if anybody needs info but that is how i read it and have chosen to play it.I have already got alot in my ISA so see this as an opportunity to de-risk a bit. I will probably keep 0.5m shares in the SIPP for fun. This is still AIM and anything can happen as with losses on my other AIM shares. I feel so fortunate to be in this position and thankful to all the help given on this board.

Could not imagine it happening but today i had to sell because my life time allowance in my SIPP is now exceeded. No point investing and having the risk and having only 45% of it. I will take the tax free cash and load the ISA. Anybody else in the same situation. Just unbelievable and this will completely change our early retirement.

I think it is worthwhile relating sp with mcap. I reckon once they have paid of previous owners and warrants sorted there will be approx 4025m shares. At £1bn mcap as Gervais targeted this is approx 25p per share. At £1.5bn 37.5p and £2bn 50p.
Is there a possibilty of getting to 50p? Who would have thought 16p 8 months ago! I personally think 25p to 37.5p is possible.
I feel the biggest threat is Rio taking over Newcrest or Gervais leaving the company.
