LOL KO, is more funny and revealing than thought...

Bluewater FPSO, not exactly setting the Hurricane Lancaster field alight, is now on 4th attempt for hook-up... BUMI, at least was not on the cheap hooked-up 1st time, then have BW, has done best of all at Catcher (30% above FDP).

Kraken is a different beast, more difficult to tame with heavier oil... Chevron did an excellent job at Captain (19 API) is maybe more tricky at 14 API.

Will be what will be...

Fair enough, that is a battered bit of rope, surprised even used for test...

If you look at this section of the Peregrino vid, will give a good idea of one type of rope used and how it's connected to the STP buoy. Looks like some sort of covered cable for the main weight supporting cable/rope.

Think a change of strategy is needed... Is possible AM needs some assistance in hooking up to STP Buoy, maybe her own dynamic positioning does not cut it...

Have observed Kraken and Catcher FPSO hook-ups, both times had a couple of AHTS (strong anchor handling tugs) holding the FPSO in position during hook-up, both times in similar weather conditions as AM's attempts, both suceeded first time, maybe is time for rethink for AM fourth attempt.

Is probably frustrating for all on ship too...

Currently, AM is more or less directly over the STP buoy (has been since around 8am'ish), where as the port is some 2.1nm NNE...

Must admit according to latest windfinder forecasts, looking good for next 24 hours, so can have some optimism.

Will almost certainly perform a full 360 rotational test when hooked-up, so is something to look for...

I'm also pretty sure the AIS transmitter location on the AM is incorrect, showing as near the starboard stern, when is is fact near the bow of the ship... Will make it look strange, but nothing else.

Is a more cost efficient method and logical too...

Can use the same mud, drill bits etc for each phase, then switching to next phase...

Can get an idea of a Kraken well construction on PAGE 46...

For #31 have due on 7/2 for 13 days...

Pelle, re TL and DC4, they are being batch drilled so are being built in consecutive phases, i.e. conductor casing first for all three wells, then intermediate casing etc, should not be far off now... No AHTS vessels as of yesterday booked for TL move, I would guess sometime "soon'ish" for finish...

One other observation, was a surprise...

Vertical versus Horizontal Wells...

"Long reach horizontal wells with multifracs are not efficient in this type of reservoir"

Quite a surprise when considering standard Permian multi-mile horizontals, but was determined by experiment and science.
