The controls on rare earth materials used in phones and defence give Chinese President Xi Jinping more leverage in upcoming talks with US President Donald Trump. They include a measure that mimics a US restriction on exports of chip-related products to China.

The recent drop to the 61.8% retracement has given the market the strength to move higher, as Market Makers are now paying a better price for selling and asking more for buying.
