The website includes a list of firms which it says have told it they have never used discretionary commission arrangements and so are outside the scope of the FCA investigation. It states: “We can’t independently verify this, but it’d seem unlikely that regulated firms would make such a blanket statement unless it was true (and if it’s not true, we’ll formally complain to the FCA about misleading info).”

Moneybarn is one of 23 firms listed as not worth making a claim against on this basis.

Lonny was hired back in 2021 as COO (chief operating officer). It’s clear for all to see the operations over the past 18 months have been woeful. Sourcing/timescales/licences etc. someone had to take responsibility, is it really that surprising he was pushed!

Interestingly no mention of Mou 1,3 or 4 (except in the context of helium). Shiny new asset - Helium…

Upcoming budget: AIM shares used for estate planning, capital gains tax treatment etc. not a huge amount of incentive for PI to take a punt!

Anyone know what the available time slot for Sandjet testing equipment is?

Amazing that sand jet testing was originally scheduled in September 2023 and here we are 11 months on…

The government has announced that the rate of the EPL will increase to 38% from 1 November 2024, bringing the headline rate of tax on upstream oil and gas activities to 78%. The period that the levy applies is also being extended to 31 March 2030. The government will also remove unjustifiably generous investment allowances from the EPL by abolishing the levy’s main 29% investment allowance for qualifying expenditure incurred on or after 1 November 2024 and by reducing the extent to which capital allowances can be taken into account in calculating levy profits. Further details of these changes will be announced by the Chancellor at Budget.
