I wouldn't say that holidays are so cheap on Holiday Hypermarket? It is as you rightly point out an arm of Tui and if you check the Tui site for a holiday price the same holiday on Holiday Hypermarket will be very slightly cheaper. A comparison for example is --- 2 weeks to Tenerife in September is 797 on Tui site and 795 on Hypermarkets site. Its a sales ploy to advertise Holiday Hypermarket as being cheap. Prior to Tui buying Hypermarket , they were a lot cheaper for comparable holidays.,
You obviously have no sensible answer to my post Allguessing. I seem to have hit one of your nerves! Maybe it's best you try and avoid talking unqualified drivel , but then again i suppose we have to be democratic and fair and give the village idiot an opinion. That is your vocation isnt it?
That dosnt mean they will get that price for that holiday! Just looked at Tuis holiday availability up to the end of June from my local airport. Huge amount of holidays still available at heavily discounted prices , much cheaper than Jet2 prices. What does that tell you? Tui are obviously having difficulty sellng their holidays whilst Jet2 are not. The cancellations problem is proving to be a huge deterrent for customers, all to the benefit of Jet2 who are prospering from this debacle
This apology was also sent to everyone on Tuis email list. It shows that they are being severely affected by the problems and are trying to stop the rot. Unfortunately for Tui the winners in all of this will be Jet2 , their main competitor in the UK.
I agree that Covid and brexit is responsible to some extent for flights and holidays cancellations , but as regards Tui it is only a small extent. Tui is mostly to blame for their own cancellations. They have sold holidays when they new they didnt have the resources to fulfil them and they have poorly managed the consequences. I personally know three couples who have had their holidays affected at very short notice with little information given to them by Tui. One of these couples were supposed to fly to Turkey Friday of last week. They checked in at Manchester and actually BOARDED the Tui aircraft. A short while later it was announced on the aircraft that the passengers holidays are cancelled. What has that got to do with credit or Covid or the government? Absolutely nothing and completely to do with Tui. The couple I know on that flight ultimately booked with Jet2 at a cheaper price. All three of these couples I know will not book with Tui again. If you think Tui isn't mostly to blame for their current woes then you need to get real. Jet2 have managed the situation so why hasn't Tui? If people pay for a product they want that product. You should not sell what you don't have. It is verging on fraud. Very bad management from Tui with total disregard for their customers. Tui will lose a huge amount of future customers and the financial cost to them will be huge to the detriment of we the private investors at a time when the company needs recovery. So please don't keep spouting off that Tui are not responsible for their current situation.
Good business for Tui? People are going to avoid booking with Tui due to the fear that their holiday will be cancelled! They will go elsewhere. These problems with Tui are nothing to do with brexit , they are due to Tui getting rid of staff during Covid and not having the foresight of the demand when Covid restrictions ended. They have purposefully let people book holidays knowing they did not have the resources in place to manage those holidays. Unfortunately for Tui , their main competitor in the UK had it all covered and will therefore reap the benefit. It is ironic that Tui couldn't operate to any great extent over the last 2 years because of problems out of their hands but now it is mostly self induced problems that have come to bite them. As an investor it is worrying.
Tui to cancel six flights a day throughout June from Manchester alone. Thats at least 180 flights. Plus all the other cancellations from elsewhere. How many holidaymakers will have their holidays cancelled because of it? MANY! Do you think those disappointed holidaymakers will want to go with Tui again? No! They will go with another company like Jet2. Other holidaymakers will also be deterred from booking with Tui because of it and book elsewhere. Ive had first hand experience from what is happening to holidaymakers , how dissapointed they are and how negatively they now feel about Tui. And yes Tui will be liable for compensation because the cancellations are Tuis responsibility. Tui will only suffer from this , other companies will benefit. Get your act together Tui. You are ruining so many people's long awaited for holidays with no consideration for them whatsoever and as a result you will suffer in the future and that WILL have an effect on the sp without doubt.
Totaltrades ------ You don't seem to understand the point! It is not negativity, it is observational fact. If a main UK competitor like Jet2 can be prepared for the demand then theres no reason why TUI shouldn't have been better prepared. Forsight can be a great thing when managing the success of a company. Unfortunately TUI havnt been as good as it's main competitor at this and Jet2 will definitely benefit from this. It's not going to kill Tui but the brand will definately take a knock. Fact Totaltrades not fiction. As an investor you have to see what is good and also what is bad in a company and not look at things through rose tinted glasses , you should know this if you are an investor. Get real Totaltrades otherwise you wont be able to make wise choices.
In the hotel we are staying at guests should have got a return Tui flight back to Aberdeen on Thursday night. They packed their bags and had to leave their room. They had a text from TUI saying their flight was delayed a couple of hours. They waited then had a further text from TUI saying there was a further delay , no explanation why. They rang TUI themselves and found out the flight had actually been cancelled and again no explanation and told they would be on a flight the following day but returning to Birmingham and not Aberdeen meaning they they had to travel by coach to Aberdeen from Birmingham, a long road trip. No explanation given.
Our friends had a flight booked leaving Manchester to Dalaman at 6 am Friday morning and coming to the same hotel as us. They were coming for one week. Their flight was cancelled until Saturday teatime. That flight was then cancelled so their holiday is now cancelled. Again not much information given by TUI as to the reasons why. This is only from our hotel and TUI are apparently doing this many times from several airports.Guests in our hotel are furious about this stating they will not book with TUI again and instead book with Jet2. TUIs lack of information and customer care has been disgusting and they are going to lose many customers to Jet2. I understand TUI may have a problem with staffing since vivid but these problems are purely down to poor operational management and poor customer care. Jet2 have no such issues so there is no excuse for TUI.
I am a long time holder of TUI shares and at the moment am slightly under my average but I worry about Tuis performance which can only have a negative effect on their customer base and the so.
There may be huge demand for holidays but companies have to manage that demand with the resources they have not with the resources they havnt. Come on TUI, get your act together quickly
Tui are legally obliged to compensate so passengers will get compensation. We are in Turkey at the moment and TUIs flight cancellations to and from Dalaman has been horrendous over the last 3 days. There reputation will be damaged by this. No problems with Jet2 flights whatsoever. The compensation bill will be huge.
No disrespect as such to anyone but it makes me laugh reading what some people post on here. The vast majority of posters on here post such utter meaningless crap. They have absolutely no real idea of how the market relates to TUIs sp. But it does keep me amused reading what they have to say. I just hope that no one is taken in by their drivel.
