Patience will resolve most issues in the majority of cases. Sure companies can go to zero but few in reality do. Plenty of reasons to be cheerful.

FWIW, it is often hard to time the correct entry as unxpected news, in a company, market or external can whipsaw the best.

Ask yourself which is tougher to live with.... an unrealised paper loss or selling out at a loss and watching the stock climb significantly higher and missing out?

Stock trends tend to reverse and time is the main unknown.

With HL if you go to the accounts screen, on the right side it will show clearly the dividends awaiting instruction. Click on it and then allocate to capital or withdraw.

The Board should not act in their own interests however it seems that many decisions could arguably be self preservation rather than shareholders interests. I see little to change the view.

They could have fully engaged with the offer and pointed out why the company was fundamentally undervalued by the offer. Instead a white flag was raised seemingly.

I expected a more robust defence that would have pushed the share in excess of the offer and assumed rightly or wrongly there were ulterior motive at play.

Yes ticker tape of RNS's will disappear thankfully.

Thinking out loud that the bid would have led to other phone calls to the Board indicating other options or collaborations.

Hoping that the board spill the beans with this regard and mention there were other interested parties.

Just keep averaging down when the sale is still on. It will end soon enough.

Fair enough, but several here did. Apollo capped the price with a limited upside so buyers held off. Buyers are back now as the company seems sound and was recovering before the bid distraction.

Looking back recent sales of 227 helped as did sales in 2021 (336p) and purchases sub 120p. Been a great trader, not a sit and hold stock.

For chartist amongst us, the 200 mda (including weighted is turnng up and the 50 day iimproving.

Waiting for confirmation but this could fly.

For those who sold around the 227p with little upside to the £2.40 and rebought in at 130p that is a great reduction in an average cost. Many did so and have a highly profitable position in this company now.

Also happy that the WG. story did not end with a bargain basement price that would be unfiar to LT holders of BoD incompetence.

The recovery from here will be despite the Board not because of it. They should all be toppled by the major shareholders. It is likely this wqas scupperred as the Board were unwanted by Apollo.

Here is to changes to the composition and a recovery of WG. to its former glory and a nice dividend return.

Well oversold it seems - usually sharp markdown in WG. and then the selling will subside. Will add more it is goes down a second leg.

Easier for the board to prove themselves at 130/135p. A time to top up, even if it goes lower as not a bust.

May get more is it tanks further.

I note that Apollo still reserve a waiver if another offer turns up.

They still want Wood but they did not want to pay for it.

So Apollo have walk from 2 approaches in a week makes me wonder if they are in trouble or manipulating the market.

Certainly, little credibility if they bid for another company.
