It's a bit of an odd one. There are enough other large holders to have a blocking stake on any Ellison takeover. If that was the intention, are his pockets deep enough to have tried it initially rather than by building a stake first? Might he just want more influence/have an effective blocking stake on any special resolutions which will prevent significant changes in strategy? It does feel like Gordon should comment on this at some point soon.

I don't agree.. My broker also mentioned to me would be a positive move by the BOD.. Yes there is a considerable amount of debt to clear, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be a barrier to offer a dividend, be it a small one.

Exactly, the company will no doubt be keeping a close eye on the SP. What gives me confidence, is the amount of interest by institutional investors, with one particular big player, Peter Hargreaves with a 30 million investment..
