Oh I’m in constant contact with head office. I went up to Waterside a few months ago for my medical…..was quite shocked to see it so empty. I’ve also emailed Sean Doyle about it. He’s well aware of the problems going on. I’m guessing there’s not many people dealing with recruitment. Walsh was so keen to slash so many jobs at the time and now that’s come back to bite them. I doubt Willie is losing any sleep over it though eh?
….I signed my new contract with BA back in Jan. Returning crew. Three times now I’ve had my start date cancelled and changed. Just heard from BA’s referencing agency yesterday to say, “congratulations on your successful application to BA. We will be dealing with your references. Can you provide us with the relevant information as an urgency please.”
I’ve given up. Not going back now. No idea what they are playing at. My mate was supposed to be starting this Thursday (after an original February start date) and just received an email delaying his course. It’s quite unbelievable. Anyway, hopefully things sorted soon and this will start moving up. Good luck all.
Hi guys. Hope you’re all well. Just an update as to how my recruitment back into BA is going. Long story short, I flew long haul (WW) at BA from LHR. I left in August 2020 after 25 years. Decided to go back and signed a contract with BA in January this year. 7th Jan to be precise. Since then I’ve been a vaccinator for the NHS. I was initially given a start date for BA as a “returner” in February. Then they said they didn’t have enough time to get my references done so changed my start date to March 8th. That then changed for no reason to May. Then a few weeks ago it was changed to July 4th. Just heard from them again to say congratulations, you’re starting on 8th August. Unbelievable. 8 months from signing a contract. That’s how bad it is at BA and no wonder cancellations are happening. I’m not the only one this is happening to. It’s happening to all crew coming back and new crew too. I’m now emailing Sean Doyle to tell him I’m close to giving up and carrying on with the NHS. Like many of you, I’ve done pretty well investing in IAG. I just hope it turns around soon. Good luck all.
Hi all! I don't usually post on here. Very much an observer. Just had to come on to comment on the mess BA are in with recruitment. I left 2 years ago after flying longhaul LHR due to covid....ended up vaccinating for the NHS. BA recruitment got back in touch at Christmas asking if I wanted to come back flying.....(worse pay and flying shorthaul too).....I decided I would. I signed my conditional contract on January 7th....they only needed one job reference from the NHS. Well, I'm still not flying, eventhough they are desperate for crew. I had my medical, uniform fitting and drugs test done in february. They are using numerous referencing agencies who are woefully bad. The referencing agency even asked for references from my job 3 years ago....um....I was with BA then. I was supposed to start on 8th March with 30 other ex-BA crew. 20 of us got an email from BA a week before we started stating there were delays in getting our references.......20 of us. One guy on my original training course had been knocked back 4 times before he started last week. I've been given a July 1st start date now. No idea whether that will go ahead. Quite a few crew have given up on BA now as they can't afford to wait. The majority of ex-crew like myself had left their jobs to come back so are now financially buggered. Anyway, just thought I'd give you a little insight into the mess with getting staff back. I hope things pan out soon for everyone. Putin needs to do one so the SP can start going back in the right direction. Good luck all!
Just dropped in to LSE to see the latest opinions on IAG after getting fed up months ago of childish bickering on these boards.....what’s the first thing I read? An argument in how to spell “hooves”. It’s not got any better in here has it? Quite laughable.
(Thanks to those who post more measured and mature posts on here about the actual subject of IAG though).
Hi all!! Long time lurkers here and recently made redundant after 25 years with BA sadly. It was a great ride though. I’ve been invested on and off for years in IAG and wondering whether people have had experience of an RI before. What happened on the actual day? Did the SP plummet/rise/remain?
Any thoughts as to what will happen on the 7th and why?
Many thanks. Good luck to everyone that is holding here.
Last Close: 512.50p Everyone including me was expecting the price to rise up significantly after the Aer Lingus take over. All markets are down today due to that 80's band "China Crisis". Can't see this dropping anymore surely??? Hope not!!! GLA!!
.....both of those reasons I think Delboy. I'm sticking with it though (I work for IAG treading water at the bottom)....think the sp will hover around this area for a few weeks abd steadily push up eventually.....no idea if this deal will go through....I betting it will. Walsh is quite relaxed about it and in no hurry. Long term IAG is looking good in my view.....but what do I know??!!!! Good luck buddy!!
