Clearly Woodside and Exxon have ambitions together.. Think back to that article about Woodside hungry for assets a few weeks back.. add the additional licences exxon just announced.. they want to conquer continent.. hmmm :-)

That is the most practical answer to many questions J, but.. it is also what I want it to be so im possibly biased too ;-)

Geographically the location they have chosen is the absolute end line of possible lateral migration.. that being the Walvis Ridge.

Some questions/ideas..

Will prospects that sit in the way leading up to that ridge be required to fill to spill or encounter a trap failure to continue the lateral migration to the ridge?

Are Exxon acknowledging the Aptian is now considered a widespread basin oil source?

Are they now hunting for certain traps? Structural?

Why did the Ministry waive the 25% reduction with Exxon sniffing around and now next door?

Why did we terminate the mandate?

Reading a couple of articles I get the feeling these are more to do with investigative working with Namcor using new technology. What exactly are they looking for, what have they learnt, what will they learn and where does it lead?

Yes, it definitely looks like 30 will be drilled this year.. Good luck to them but I feel the result will be more useful and valuable info for us without having to spend a penny!

Exxons new licences are the empty slots adjacent to TRP's in the North.. I would say that's more validation of our potential as we now sit slap bang in between Exxon!

Actually, Does it make 2 seperate paths? not sure now looking at it again? Cormorant heads into the south east of 94, Murombe heads/on trend with the south west of 94.. I think i'm right?

Arguably, does it also head into PEL 29? Particularly Chloje?

Before you think I'm totally crazy..

Very long horizontal migration distances have been documented in some basins, in the Alberta basin of Canada the oil has migrated more than 400 km. In other cases the dominant direction of migration is vertical following fault or fracture systems, such as some accumulation in the North Sea.
