Second Renewal Exploration Period (2 years)
In addition, and carried over from the First Renewal Period (Phase 2) extension, is the acquisition of 600 sq km of 3D seismic data - contingent upon Global "concluding" a farmout - and the drilling of one exploration well.

The Ministry has also waived the requirement to surrender a further 25 per cent of the original Licence Area - which is normally required at the end of the First Renewal Period

However!! So do GBP (read across) eco, tullow, ongc, Namcor and Exxon. It perhaps explains why Exxon have suddenly entered into 4 more licences to the north.. it bodes extremely well for all our structural traps which can catch and better trap secondary migrated oil from the more risky and failed stratigraphic prospects now proven in that location to have generated prolific quantities of oil such as Cormorant to the south, i.e evidence of wet gas indicating oil throughout the section. Anyone paying close attention as events unfold will note Exxon have positioned themselves adjacent to the repeating oil seeps along the faulted flanks of Gemsbok, the same plays GBP believe are in PEL 94.

'Concluding' not 'Seeking' as previously used.. e.g. Sep 2018 - the Company will continue to seek potential farm-in partners.

Absolutely, and differing views makes for a very healthy discussion board!

Without doubt historically GBP have used the wait and see approach, its all it could/can do as a minnow. I just feel events have moved way ahead of what we currently know. I see Exxon snapping up 4 more blocks updip to our north and breathing down our necks on PEL 29 as another clue to add to the proven play read across into our PEL 94 from "recent drilling". What i'm saying is the result of recent drilling "has" encouraged speculators to take positions in GBP and we are about to find out whom at the summit. It's how I read it with all that has happened to date.

I'm not suggesting anyone should buy or sell... never do, it is just my bursting opinion!. i'm posting less and less until the summit so that I don't make to big a tit of myself .. We will Soon find out.. :-)

I couldn't disagree more :-) GBP's wait and see mode ended mid 2017 with the 2D data acquisition followed by the CPR and Stellar mandate etc etc as the oil industry slowly came out of its long downturn.

As slow as the process is, GBP hasn't stopped to simply wait and see, GBP are actively seeking a farm out partner.. the same plan continues as it has all along. It was only 8 months ago GBP secured the new licence PEL 94 which they are currently identifying the prospects and leads.

We are only 8 days away from our exhibition at the Summit.. It is a big deal to show off our prime assets to the decision makers including super majors. **Particularly with the read across/thief channel/up dip/Structural traps from the multi billion barrels, PROVEN play prospects within PEL 37**

PEL 34 has also had 3D completed.. Azinam/ECO..

Azinam have only 12.5% of PEL 44. Manuel and Prom are the operator with 42.5%. This licence isn't Exxon/Azinam.. its Maurel & Prom/Exxon.

You ask good a question zebbo.. why terminate the Stellar mandate so soon after the data room was reported as busy and not giving a chance for majors to go back n forth through various decision makers/departments to make a possible decision. Particularly on top of Cormorants read across drill with migration distance issues?

I don't think anyone is 'expecting' but certainly 'hoping!' GBP are showing their wares at the Summit, totally agree with you however the question I ask is in what capacity? Reading all the paragraph it also advertises GBP as a company using the Summit to build on existing partnerships.. any ideas who this would be? Namcor? Really? Bronze Investments PTY Limited and Aloe Investments Two Hundred and Two (PTY) Ltd who both have a free carry? Really?

So.. my hope is by putting 2 + 2 together (GBP + what the hell are multi billion company Woodside Energy doing in the list of exhibitors?) i'm getting 4 rather than 5.
