I'm beginning to suspect Paul Howletts presentation 'Hunting Giants in Namibia with new source and reservoir models' was just realiterating what GBP have always believed only perhaps this time GBP have some ears prepared to listen? The Welwitschia drill by Repsol/TRP? is it evidence of this? They clearly did not agree with GBP's geology model and went ahead targeting shallower zones which, as GBP explained perfectly, turned out not to be there.

Just like Totals failed Brulpadda Prospect in 2014.. Welwitschia absolutely needs drilling no again. It would be criminal not too!

Really pleased to have found this old article which explains GBP's perspective on PEL 29 and also Welwitschia which only reached a total depth of 2,454 metres. The 'thief channel', information gained from PCL's PEL 37 Cormorant drill and now the main risk seen by further prospects by Africa Energy, which swings round in a western direction into PEL 94 (Our read across) is in a sand channel fairway (as per the map within the 'Exxon: Is this the defining moment for Pancontintal' article) and does indeed appear to lead right up to Gemsbok for the charging of the upper zones. GBP imply this to be the case back in 2014. Hardly anyone would agree but to me it feels like a horse race.. Coming up from the rear is Exxon, Seapulse are neck and neck with Africa Oil close behind. Africa Energy are neck and neck with Azinam in 4th 5th position, Tullow are making a sprint for the finish line with outsiders Total and ONGC still in the race. 100-1 outsiders Woodside failed finish.

It would make absolute sense for them as Welwitschia has 3D and is pretty much drill ready for the now known undrilled region wide Aptian. Success there derisks follow on structures such as Gemsbok etc etc.. all containing the same plays.. if Seapulse are all about reducing costs, I don't think you could find a better opportunity v time and cost together with the all important requirement of a robust trap in Namibia. (Imo) its ready to go!
