Technical work undertaken by Global in the last 18 months based on 2D seismic data suggests that the most interesting plays in the Licence are Cretaceous deepwater sandstones in structural or stratigraphic traps and carbonate platform build-ups on large horst blocks. Both reservoirs would be sourced either from the south and the Wingat source kitchen or locally, from syn-rift source rocks within deep rift grabens identified within the Licence.

The presence of mature oil generative source rock below thick clean quartz rich sands is therefore proven in this basin. We will conclude by showing the evidence for an up-dip bypass zone for the non-deposition of sediment, and/or laterally continuous fault systems that will provide up-dip trapping.

Our x Dana Directors know their oil and evidence that the Geoscience Team put out only last year shows just how good they are. No shouting with bells and whistles.. just quietly and patiently waiting, acquiring and dealing at the right moment for the right things and hence no cash raising for 15 years during the worlds most turbulent oil times. Our updip region high 3 way structural traps next to the regional closure (Ridge) below the regional seal are one of a very few left that I know of ticking all the boxes.

I don’t think he/she is a paid deramper, quite the opposite, someone who likes GBP’s prospects , likes the board (experienced Dana success and sale for 2 billion combined with owning well over 49% of this company and more than aligned with shareholders), survived the downturn, not raised cash since 2005, the interest noises being made about Namibia, regional seal, proven oil and so in.
He/she wants in but the price is wrong for his/her investment/trading rules.

Char and Venus.. yep, it sure is closer. The problem however is that if the Venus-1 unlocks Namibia as a new oil frontier, no matter that Char is closer, they will hold a Yale key to a Chubb lock. The prospects sit at the depths above the regional seal. GBP on the other hand will hold a Chubb key to a chubb lock. I have added Char to the list with ECO, PCL, Azinam and so in with those shallower prospects. All promising only a couple of years back but now left with complicated lateral migration issues above the regional seal. The seal.. it’s a big deal as it runs from Angola to the north to South Africa in the south. Now unless nature said nope, Namibia will be left out at the borders than clearly it’s all about prospects below that seal post Cormorant and Brupadda. The info is out there. This is great news for GBP but bad, bad, bad for many others including Char. I do take my hat off to Char though, at least they had a go at drilling in 2018.

Reports of the likes of Exxon rushing to expand acreage in this new frontier v Azinam, PCL, ECO as examples having their vast acreage debunked in the shallower waters within a proven oil system as those prospects sit above the seal suffering significant lateral migration issues. It seems there are a handful of companies left with prospects below the seal and most likely to be trapped and GBP is one of them. A flurry of ‘contacts with counterparties’ stated in 3 quarterly reports, prospects are up dip, 3 way dip closed structural traps with hydrocarbon indicators.. what’s not to like now they know what they know?

Contacts with counterparties, and again and again, Namcor increasing by 7% for 3d on 94 which will ‘advance very significantly the exploration program’ , slim lining company, didn’t take up option voted in twice following expiration for a share issue, Aptian, Aptian Aptian.. regional seal.. patiently waiting..

Exxon is moving to rapidly expand its exploration footprint in this little-known venue..

Agh.. last message.. GBP for 2 years running now (the first expired) have had the vote and option to increase the share by 25% in total and a higher price. Looks like they were going to raise money but have put it on continual hold. Why is a mystery!

Azinam, char, PEL 37 are windows to the shift in focus above the seal.
The question is.. Are the contacts with counterparties regarding a possible farm out, acquisition of 3d for 7%, streamlining the company moving away from the ASX all linked?

I don’t think acquiring the 3d for 94 for 7% of the licence to Namcor combined with around the same time with contacts regarding a possible farm out is a coincidence.

All these companies. Small cap, mid cap and majors want to find oil in this frontier region. Namcor/the ministry are bending over backwards to get Drills done and find discoveries. Only around 20 drills have been carried out, Top of my head 12 of those were around the Kudu field. The remaining drills have recently discovered a regional seal. The previous few drills have found little above it. Most licences held by the lines of ECO, Char, Azinam have their prospects above the regional seal. The document I posted written by the chairman of Namcor post the Cormorant drill pointed out the future focus in the next phase.. prospects below the seal, faulted traps. GBP are one of a few that hold licences with prospects below the seal. The 3 quarterly reports pointed out contacts regarding a possible farm out. Was it one company or many looking into jumping into prospects below that seal?

Underinvestment Could Send Oil Prices Soaring

The future of oil prices has been written in the under-investment in virtually every aspect of oil and gas production. As legacy fields decline, and new production falls below the replacement rate for new wells, oil and gas prices will see an uplift.
Supermajor oil companies, like BP, no longer provide a safe dividend and may experience share price deterioration as a result.
As we exit 2020, there will be a supply gap of between 10-15 mm BOPD causing prices to rise well beyond their current $30-40/bbl range.
