Royal London deal15 Dec 2025 11:43
I don’t think people quite understand the value of having Royal London as a shareholder. Absolutely brilliant piece of business by Capita.
The Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Limited (some of will have had a Scottish Provident insurance policy at some point) are the UK's largest mutual life, pensions, and investment company.
As a mutual organization, Royal London is owned by its customers rather than external shareholders. This structure allows the company to focus on long-term value and share its profits with eligible customers through initiatives like "ProfitShare". Customer-owned meaning profits are shared with customers, not shareholders. They are a major UK provider of protection, long-term savings, and asset management products. I sold products for them many years ago and they were a great company to work with.
They have funds under management of approximately £181 billion and over 8.6 million policies in force as of mid-2025.
Globally recognised, they rank in the top 30 largest mutual and cooperative insurers worldwide.
