Thoughts for the future10 Jun 2025 10:18
Jimmy many thanks for all your insights and strategic guidance over on the Predator board. I can now see why you dedicate so much time there as significant developments are imminent.
It’s made me realise that Energean’s withdrawal, citing insufficient gas reserves to justify further investment despite encountering some gas-bearing reservoirs in the B sands, has reinforced my view that any further appraisal or development drilling is realistically 2–3 years away, and with Chariot’s accelerated shift towards renewables coinciding with the setbacks at Anchois-3, it seems more like an effort to steer attention away from the drilling failure rather than a genuine ESG-driven transition. To me, this appears more like a tactical reframing rather than a fundamental change in operational strategy.
Predator really does seem to have a distinct competitive edge in Morocco now, very cleverly managing all their information flow and controlling the narrative around their gas monetization strategy.
So with Trinidad oil production updates expected imminently and the Mag Mell FSRU project in Ireland progressing towards key regulatory milestones, I can fully appreciate why you're so bullish on Predator’s near-term catalysts.
I’ll keep an eye on any new Chariot developments, but for me Predator presents a much stronger near-term catalyst. Who knows, things may change in the future for Chariot, but it appears to be a much longer term proposal now.
Thanks again Jimmy and good luck all long term holders
