Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Q3 results should be on the OK side, however it might be they are playing on the FCA report and Brexit no deal which would impact metro both mid/long term due to its exposure to the UK market.
@lemonade are you actually serious? Or just disillusioned? Let's leave the referendum out of this, but if your idea (as investor) is that going out with no deal is good for the UK market you are really a numpty. Geez.
he does not have to do it all himself... could club up with the backing of investors. Could (obviously pure speculation) be a management buyout, going around the 12 Months rule. Ultimately this is all speculation (which is good as tastes the ground)
have actually read the RNS? Yes is good as it confirms the T&C but apart form that nothing new. It would allow for the SP to gain some ground (about time) but those already stating this would open at 250P gosh what are you taking? (HAPPY if that would happen ) but with that RNS can not see it happening. Clear it would not go down as SP but higher, however nowhere near the silly amounts some are already stating.
I am not actually going to stress too much about the SP. Yes it has gone back down (more than majority thought) but it is keeping balanced...... If any good news would be great for monday if no news more of the same next week..... Do not think any takeover will materialize or be expected until the FCA outcome .....
that was my understanding too, if an offer is rejected by the BOD I presume an hostile take over could happen (and in this case the SP would fly).... am I wrong (for those who might know) to think about 80% of shares in Metro are held by large investors etc? and in essence PI are only a small number? (which would be interesting if the sp jumps for a few days the shorters would need to find shares to buy back)
@MaverickD I was not comparing the two! Only comparison was people stating offer will come at 30 p etc. But ultimately I personally (and I would be very very happy to be proven wrong) I do not think there would be an offer short term, current climate is way too edgy for any company to make a move........ I'd rather prefer Metro showing good Q3 results ( could not care less on profits) but running costs. If they can show that, it can only be positive. Yes they do have the 9.5% and that would erode profits but key for to ensure the funds were there.
yes agreed, but there are other factors which must be taken into account, long term growth, running costs etc. There would be no offer short term the current climate would not permit any company to be brave enough. Metro has got great potential (that is why I am invested) they do however have underline issues. Q3 results would allow (and I keep going on about it) clarity on the future of the company, if they have reduced running costs brilliant this would definitely progress no higher levels, they might has well be in red as long as overheads are lowered...this is one of the key points for the market.
