TomCo Energy plc (TOM.L) is an oil shale exploration and development company focused on using innovative technology to unlock unconventional hydrocarbon resources

TomCo’s major assets are its Holliday Block oil shale leases covering 2,919 acres in Uintah County, Utah, USA (within the Green River Formation). Its largest lease has a JORC Measured
Resource of 126 million barrels of recoverable oil, with an estimated 12 million barrels on its second lease.

Incorporated in 2017, TurboShale Inc. is the Group’s technology development company. It has acquired from JR Technologies, LLC (“JRT”) two key patents for an oil shale extraction technology, proven from a technical feasibility perspective, which demonstrated the benefits and efficacy of using a process involving the use of radio frequency (“RF”) in the extraction of oil & gas from oil shale.
The Company believes that this relatively low-cost and environmentally benign disruptive technology has the potential to unlock TomCo’s oil shale assets.

TurboShale, a recently incorporated Utah company and now in partnership with JRT, has acquired a process which builds upon the already proven use of Radio Frequency (RF) to produce oil from oil shale. The technology can be compared to a previous multimillion USD RF test programme (“BART Programme”) conducted in the early 1980s at a site in the same Uinta Basin as, and estimated to be within approximately 20 miles of, TomCo’s Holliday Block, Utah

TurboShale recently commenced its Field Test Programme on the Holliday Block property which is intended to prove it’s developed RF technology. The results from this test are expected before the end of 2018.

Ray Kasevich of JRT, was a key scientist on the BART Programme and has considerable RF expertise as well as being one of the key inventors with patents originally developed and issued for the BART project (now expired).

The Directors believe the results of the 1980s BART Programme were very encouraging – demonstrating low operating and production costs, with a good quality oil (low sulfur, high API, low pour point) being produced using this process

Radio waves are emitted from antennas in horizontal or vertical wells and deeply penetrate almost any material (permafrost, soils , rock)
Absorption at molecular level occurs resulting in chemical bonds weakening; resonances, and desorption
RF rapidly heats the pore and material bonded waters (connate, water of crystallization, capillary waters providing a controlled ‘fracturing’ in rock. As a result there are no water or chemical requirements for the fracturing process
RF waves create oil/gas movement
Antenna lengths from a few meters to tens of meters in vertical wells depending on frequency and layouts. Long antennas in horizontal wells also possible
Portable and computer controlled operating systems
Wide range of frequency choices and RF generator power range, typically up to 250 kW
Minimum impact on the environment: No need for blasting or leaching rock
True in-situ technology, similar to conventional drilling practices
The 1980s BART study indicates reduced refinery costs: with the recovered oil having low sulfur, high API and low pour point
No water requirement; only recycled water for equipment cooling may be necessary
Higher quality oil & gas product with RF at lower temperaturesRF gives precise temperature control for control of oil/gas yield and product characteristics

Tomco reversed into netcentric in 2006 if I remember correctly. So only listed since then not in the 90s

BOTSWANA OPERATING UPDATE



Kavango Resources plc ("Kavango" or "the Company") (Ticker LSE: KAV), the exploration group listed on the Standard List segment of the main market of the London Stock Exchange and targeting the discovery of world class mineral deposits in Botswana, is pleased to announce an update on operations.



Highlights



· The Company's exploration programme is focused on the Kalahari Suture Zone ("KSZ"): targeting the discovery of world class Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide rich deposits in SW Botswana;



· The target areas have a similar geological setting to the giant Norilsk deposit in Russia;



· At present Kavango holds 100% of 12 Prospecting Licences (6,928km2) based on a major under explored 450km long structural feature;



· Historic exploration spend on the licences approximates US$2.2m and the knowledge gained has been applied in the development of the exploration programme;



· An experienced geologist, Takashaya Murova, has now been appointed as Exploration Manager at the KSZ Project; he has 15 years of varied exploration experience, having worked with SRK Consulting, Cluff Mining and Rio Tinto's subsidiary in Zimbabwe, and Rockover Resources in Mozambique;



· A contract has now been signed with a subsidiary of Geotech Airborne Geophysical Surveys of Canada to carry out an airborne electromagnetic survey further details of which will be provided to market shortly;



· Commencement of the Airborne Geophysical Surveys will be announced following receipt of government approvals which are expected shortly;

From the relist docs in 2011. We should be looking at least a doubling of the resource so 250M barrels on the low end hopefully. SRK’s estimate, summarized below in Table 5.2, comprised some 200 Mt of oil shale containing a potential yield of 120 million barrels with an average yield of 25 gallons per short ton (gallons/t). Table 5-2: SRK Mineral Resource Statement – Oil Shale Lease ML 49571 (1,280 acres) SRK considered the fact that the oil shale within the three western parcels occurs in areas of thicker overburden (300 to 700 ft) would likely limit exploitation to in-situ methods and that while it is almost certain that the Green River Shale is present within these leases, the exact thickness and yield of the oil shale remains uncertain as there is no nearby drillhole data. From RNS in June The Company will also engage a competent person to produce an updated resource report for its Holliday Block. The update will involve a desktop calculation being performed with the aim of converting the current JORC Measured Resource of 126 million barrels of recoverable oil to a SPE PRMS resource. The TomCo Board believes this is a more relevant measurement of the resource for the Holiday Block in relation to the utilisation of TurboShale's RF technology.

Their second drilling programme was for an addtional 10,000m bringing them to around 15,000m. About half of what KOD has drilled to date.

By the time they had drilled a further 5,000m (i.e.) 10,000m in total they had established a strike length of 700m. Ngoualana currently 850m+ with a parallel zone of unknown length, Boumou 400m and Sogola-Baoule 1400m+

By 15,000m total they'd extended their main zone by about the same length and were preparing the scoping study/PFS:

They moved up to around 29Mt by drilling just 29 more holes beyond the first 51 for the maiden resource. These additional holes had similar intercepts to KOD's drilling 20-30m etc. Grades perhaps a little higher.

I guess by this second upgrade they may have been on about 15,000m like the post above. I don't think I need to go further than this though right up to current 100Mt.

No they've been drilling fairly constantly since 2016. I reckon they were on around 15,000m of drill holes (80 holes) by around March '17. That gave them around 28Mt of lith on their first upgrade after the maiden resource. But that back then was substantially less than the metres and holes and strike length drilled by KOD currently. Had KOD followed a similar pattern of early JORC followed by multiple upgrades their share price would be multiples of where it is now. Just gonna make the maiden JORC more eye catching now though.

Yeah correct had a look maiden 15.5Mt, 51 holes for 5179M, bit light on the drilling but suppose very consistent? So I see from BGS RNS's the increases, 27.8Mt, 32.9Mt, 65Mt and now 103.2Mt and the amount of holes drilled 51,80,142,261 cant see the last one for the 103.2Mt resource. 229,000t maiden Li20 then 393,000t, 451,000t, 931,000t cant see the last one for the 103.2Mt resource.

Anyway unless I am blind cant find the metres drilled for those resource increases. Would be very interesting to know I think. If you know the 2 blanks aswell (total holes and total tonnes for last resource) would be cool.

Birimian provided the principal sources of information used in this Mineral Resource estimate including drilling databases, a topographic surface, mapping information and a geological interpretation of the mineralised pegmatites. In total, 50 holes for 5,179m of drilling informed the resource model.

The mineral resources are defined by reverse circulation (RC) and diamond (DD) drilling. The majority of drilling is at 50m x 50m and 50m x 25m spacing on the Main pegmatite zone. This spacing is adequate to establish the geological and grade continuity for reporting of Mineral Resources.

While BGS had wider intersects of lith they drilled an absolute fraction of the areas that KOD had. They had two parallel zones like we have on Ngoualana, but just over 5,000m drilled to eastablish the maiden 15.5Mt. We've drilled about 6 times that with high grade lith in all discoveries. BA get it out "by September" fella! Mouth watering, eyebrow raising, jaw dropping, take your pick.

Someone posted earlier that it was based on around 5000m but I've not had time to check. That seems a bit slim for 15.5Mt, I might get time to check later. I know that both SAV and PREM announced maiden on around 9,000m (9Mt and 16Mt respectively with further upgrades since). So clearly KOD drilled for another year or so beyond their first 9,000m, with now 30,000m ish on 3 "advanced" discoveries. So strapped in baited breath, courage of my convictions, got the minerals to hold for a much more realistic share price.

I guess since we've substantially more holes drilled than Birimian did for their maiden JORC the numbers are likely to impress since they recorded more than 15Mt. With the gold assets, £3.5m cash and lith here £13m cap shows just how oversold these were, should really be at least double this before the JORC. The Chinese sure didn't think their 0.38p investment was buying at the top when they entered this last year, 0.19p is still only half of what they came in at. Folks will be up 100% before they breakeven on the bulk of their investment in KOD.

We're catching up fast with our neighbours, their next steps are environmental permitting and obtaining mining licence. Something that KOD have also ongoing at present. Certainly working with the Malian authorities for environmental permitting at present for KOD.
