Perhaps you can explain your strategy about waiting until the SP gets to 50p? Especially when you could have bought them cheaper!

Just been speaking to one of my ex Oil colleagues who told me that the sea anchors have already been fixed and readily available to hook up. I have now confirmed this with Lerwick Port Authority. Even less work to do! And yes, the support vessel and the FPSO ARE moving, although, personally, I would not expect them to go WOS just yet. Atb Rich

Welcome Mr Wilks as you certainly appear to have some knowledge, likewise ADUK in his response to you. The reason I stated that there was an 'opportunity' was exactly because the hook up is not too time consuming and that the weather conditions would allow for it. Anything around 2m swell or less is seen as practically calm conditions in this area at this time of year. Even helicopters take off and land in 2m swells. Normally this type of work would be undertaken during April to September as conditions then are much better. However, it has already been stated that HUR want the FPSO in position a.s.a.p. which seemed to suggest that they would take an early opportunity to get on location and latch the turret. Finding a lengthy fair weather window at this time of year, and we have not seen the worst weather yet, is a very big ask. So if these small windows are missed we could all be in for a long wait. One of the most time consuming exercises ( if required ) would be the deployment and securing of any sea anchors. Usually about 12 for an FPSO. Time will tell! Atb Rich

Haggis: I also sold everything I had about 6 weeks ago, Blue chips..the lot! But kept Hurricane and added considerably. Anyone who didn't see what was coming made a big mistake. The only stock I have dipped back in is Lloy. When I see people posting that they have so much percentage of their portfolio in HUR, being top heavy etc., etc. it just makes me laugh, as apart from a little recent dabble I have been 100% HUR for some time. Regarding hook up. The 19th, 20th, last time I checked, forecast a swell of under 2 metres which is about as good as it gets out there. So to my way of thinking this does represent an opportunity. Is anyone suggesting that the hook up will not go ahead unless we are less than that? Serious question! Atb Rich

These FPSO's, A.M. included, are built to withstand very severe weather conditions. To think the company are going to wait until we experience flat calm conditions, which in this area, at this time of year are quite frankly as common as snow in summer, will not happen. As soon as a window appears it will be all systems go imo. And there is a small window coming on the 19th 20th which could be appropriate. All imho of course. Atb Rich

Just grabbed another 36,500 @ 48p. Little dip in the SP from day high's so took the plunge. May be a little drift in the next couple of days..maybe not. But soon as she sails I expect 50p to come and go in a flash. Atb Rich

And that's exactly why the SP is showing such resistance today. And why my hoped for top up has not yet materialised. Soon as she ups anchor the SP will pop up above 50p in a blink imo. Atb Rich
