The government has to play safe in this situation or else become the laughing stock of the world if it is forced to change track later and admit it was wrong to ban oil and gas. Let us hope that is enough to overcome their moral cowardice. There just has to be a majority of sane ministers in the government who support indigenous oil and gas, energy security and a stop to higher and higher energy costs. Why should the Norwegians continue to subsidise and pay for the insanity of the Ed Millibands and Ryans of this world. That is why they want new fairer agreements with Germany and the UK for indisputably good reasons, one of which is to protect their own consumers.
