GM402, you are what I call a bona fide contributor to this board. When I called WK the Jewel in the Crown I meant it in the sense of a life saver. There appears to be a battle of wills underway in that room and around that table. The BoD need to know they can stick it out and ceasing mining at WK does not on the face of it appear to be a wise decision unless they know more than we do, which is certainly the case. Therefore you need to trust their judgement.

The cloak-and-dagger stuff cannot go on much longer. If LG starts a Barryroe Green Enterprise and is willing to put enormous amounts of money into it would he be obliged to buy LOGP out first of all? SD, very understandable frustration but CS is very unlikely to trust anyone else to sell his shares for the price he wants. A week is a long time in politics and the same goes for three weeks in negotiations, especially if a public hint has been given that bids, so far that is, are not up to the mark. Who knows, maybe the gap as at the end of July is not insurmountable and that is reflected in CS’s remarks at the AGM. An insulting bid of 20-25P would be absolutely insurmountable and lead to exclusion from further negotiations for any serious would-be purchaser.

SD, get up to date. CS modified that remark three weeks later by saying there were reasons to believe a sale would be completed this year but that those very reasons could not be elaborated on for reasons of confidentiality. Is he a liar or trying to n mislead, do you think?

Layla, excellent post. The average of hundreds of guesses a long time back was about 130P. I do not expect less than 65P. I doubt the BoD would accept it although I would vote yes for that at the present moment. Considering how metal prices may rocket in the next few years must be a bit of a nightmare for our BoD. They hardly want to see Potanin or whoever laughing all the way to the bank.

Is it significant that LG did not make a parallel offer of x% of compensation obtained by litigation to BEY shareholders?
