countrywide used to have a volume New Homes business based on size of network but its pretty much been completely destroyed.the BODS think just trying to sort secondhand sales is the solution-shows how inept they really are. SH volume down new homes up-hello ?? its a unique skill -land and NH all relationship led-and those that were capable are now long gone. last time I looked literally only handful of land operators. Its Dead.

Be a pretty interesting AGM this week I am certain.

I received my Annual Increase Letter today and I’m composing my “Farewell Letter” to Rightmove.

Michael Bruce is the brains and as soon as he let of UK it was going to be a struggle. Wainwirght did not have the leadership and staying power to make it spin . Be interested to see what the next move is. They need some one who know all aspects of the market not just second-hand houses.

It was only a matter of time for a third portal with traction gaining on both Zoopla and Rightmove. The bad feeling against RM and strong support by the independent agencies will be OTMs winner. I don't know the full story but I did hear that the appeal failure against OTM by Connells Group could be significant and adds to the advertising war chest to get OTM well and truly of the runway.Up and away.

A rise in share price should come as no surprise. Where else in the marketplace is one player (in this case RM) so strong for so long without any real change in their benefit model to their customers. OTM is a cheaper option and agents are being squeezed by RM and need to survive in a tricky market.I imagine the recent court case gives some extra £££ in the pot for more profiling/exposure which has to be the next step.Emerging for sure.

I see with a tightening market and Rightmove constant raising of prices OTM will actually be a good bet.It will,in the short term at least,save an agent many thousands of £ and in some cases in 2019 this isn't a nice to have but a must have.I see more agents ditching RM in 2019 to save money to survive an list on OTM and Zoopla. A harder market means more success for OTM

they are going to be dire because the likes of Connells and Romans and LSL results -all stable and run well-are also going to be dire I would say until at least 2020-because the market is very tough and Countrywide disruption in difficult times is double bad.Even the B2B has been decimated........

PBs spend on advertising getting to where they are has been truly eye watering.
An interesting viewpoint I had with someone the other day was this What if a large traditional firm had spent as much money as PB had on advertising on acquisition growth and hiring the best in the business where would that put that frim today. Perhaps 70% of all non pay anyway market share. Its all smoke and mirrors to me. Hats of to the Bruce's though. If it all goes Pete tong tomorrow they still win by a million %

In Italy last week a landmark legal case which covered false reviews on Tripadvisor could mean false representations via reviews = a criminal offence! I cant see why reviews on sites like Trustpilot should be any different so it will be interesting to see how PB reviews go form here and I imagine posts currently on line may be removed in a hurry .The difference in the Australian ASA and ours is interesting-ours being completely toothless of course and the Aussies jumping on the spiel immediately and with more than just a slap on the wrist.The drop in share price alone very recently should give holders cause for real concern.
