RE: Menell on key battery materials30 Nov 2021 19:26
Exactly my point and yes it is scary. Why do you think VW have not bought in to EMH in Czech either via offtake or bought the whole mine back in 2018 and later years ? Russia !
With a click of the fingers a VW owned Cinovec could be in the hairlines of Mr Putin. It already is to some degree. They should have been mining in 2021/22. They haven't even got the DFS out yet ??? How come?
Even I know whats down there - more than the 7-8mt lce they are saying and 500,000-600,000 tons of tin.
Try 10-11mt lithium carb and 750,000 tons of tin. But they will not let that out.
Security of resource. Even now in the Baltic states they worry about what they say. Russia is all over the Ukraine and will take it for sure.
So would you buy EMH ? VW are buying battery supplies not the mine. Ding ding ding.
One reason why the US and Canadian lithium copper nickel and titanium companies are so sought after now. And yes the UK will become a hub to the UK itself but also overseas.
Just wait for the money to come in. Menell gets it totally. The expansion by the West to catch up with China needs to increase in spend and reduce time to production. Thing is the lightbulb moment is now and next year. As prices keep on rising the assets gain and gain in value and soon become billion dollar companies. CUSN , CL , BL , E3 , Standard Lithium, Vulcan Resources and a few I will keep to myself will all gain MAJOR players interests.
You are a fund manager anywhere in the world.
Who do you buy and where at what cost , when ?
Pension funds would be barmy not to hold some, so X that up around the world for demand on critical metals you can invest in. Its a tsunami wall of money that is coming in over the next 2-5 years in the West.
The Chinese have already been to Oz & Africa and taken the best. EU is desperately trying to keep them out, but the offer of cheap funding and entrapment is and has already started to happen.
The worse the spread from China the more the US will react and enforce their own assets and links.
Natural in psychology throughout history.
