Gangster,
yes I too would be out anywhere above 235/6..
They are floating between 220 and 235 last few weeks ..
If I was a buyer I'd wait until after ex-dividend..
Do they ever reach the target price? I think these will struggle to reach 240 .. dividend coming up will push the price down ..
A few big buys and sells today, I guess day traders are happy with today's rise .. I hope this goes to 235 before dividend ..
You're not listening very well, only one of the businesses wasn't profitable .. I'm sure someone is going to put you right on 'a company never selling a successful company'
.. I believe Tesco sold them and also the Polish business to streamline their business, also 2.5 billion was paid into the pension fund .. all this information is available online..
So the shareholders must have been much better off after that ????.. they sold one of the business in the far east was successful the other not so but but the actual amount was £8bn, not bad since they only brought the business originally for£180m ..
How, did Tesco make 5bn and return it to investors? (without taking it straight back again)
Or delivery your shopping to your door .. I like some things about Lidl but Tesco have looked after me while shielding ..
I think every other share has to go down before Tesco goes up .. ??
Once a share is dropping I guess you have to stick with it, unless you're positive it's going to drop further, you'd hope it has bottomed out but who would take that gamble, yes you would have been better investing in eg, Barclays, but the time for that has passed, I think stick with it .. things can turn round pretty quick ..
Lakcaj ..
Yeah we could do with something lighting a fire beneath this one .. I'm sure it will bounce back a bit though .. it always seems to although I don't see it getting beyond 250, some forcasting around 300p but I don't see it ..
Over the last year investors have been looking forward to some date or other, often to be disappointed .. tomorrow is another case .. share price has recovered a little which might persuade investors to reinvest their dividend ..
Surely if there's less shares in issue then when the dust settles each share has a higher value?
Lots of big buys late on ..
IAPR
I've done exactly the same, so!d last week (pre exdiv) at 246.5 so I'm fairly happy considering I was eyeing it up at 239 yesterday .. I think it could go lower but it's a case of being happy with the price your in at .. I've got caught out being greedy before .. I had a few quotes rejected before a successful buy, I wonder why? I'm with IG ..
I'm better of than if id stayed in for the dividend ..
Good luck ..
I'm swithering on buying today, one thing I've learned is when you think Tesco can't drop any lower - they can! I'd be happy buying in at 236, that's 10p down on what I sold last week and have moved the capital into an ISA ..
Thought I'd missed the bus on Monday at 239 ish, not sure now which way this is going ..
It's getting tantalisingly close to what my buy target but I'm wary of it falling further come monday . there are a few buying in today .. think it's a bit of a lottery ..
Jimjam.
yes, this is coinciding with a dip in the markets, Dow maybe on the way down slightly and bad news regarding the economy might see Tesc slip lower .. interesting week coming up ...
Longtime investor,
yes I hope it stays stable (or in my case as potential buyer drops a little) and then starts to rise from then on ..
