Nowhere to go in lockdown that costs money so it's an easy choice for me to hold on for the extra few guaranteed percent from the deal closing. When it's announced i don't think it matters what shareholders do, there are institutions that will mop anything up for a guaranteed easy percentage.

The closing will take a while chriszzr if it's a mid sized deal as we all expect it to be -

Obviously that's an average time quoted, so it may take less time than that.

See, now you're talking some nonsense about binding deals being in, where in RNS does it say that?. That's why we looked into what was out there Willaimsburg reference any suggested time frames for that section of the M&A. They noted the delays and the causing factors in the Jan RNS, so the next thing to do was to try and see if there was anything out there that could provide some guidance on the non-binding to binding section. The only thing i and others found was that 4-8 week suggestion, every other week has passed to date and we're now in week 8 since that non-binding RNS.

I've told you they waited for someone, the delays are explained in the same RNS, even the holiday delays. You're the one saying certain things, the party/parties the had to wait for due to the delays has to get the same window to move to binding, you do understand that bit, yes?. So if they do then the 8 weeks applies to the last non-binding offer submitted, that's just simple logic. Go and argue with someone else, the 8 week window comes from a third party source, perhaps email them with you concerns?

This is what we do, we look at everything out there to try and get the most accurate picture of what's going on. They waited for someone, that part is pretty clear as they explained the delays in the same RNS.

The 8 weeks applies to the parties who got their non-binding offers in later than others. They clearly waited for someone who had strong intentions of putting an offer forward, hence the late in the game Jan 14th RNS with the covid travel restrictions explanation. For that party/parties, for them to have the same fair crack at the whip they get the same set time for submitting a binding offer, it is the only way to run a fair FSP in the current situation. We'll see soon enough if the suggested 8 week window applies here, some at Blackrock appear to be expecting something similar i would say, hence the closing of all short positions imho.
