They'll have to begin reversing certain sanctions if peace is the outcome of these talks, the flight one most definitely. Not sure why the EU want to ban Russian media, is that so we're only given one sides propaganda in any future possible incidents? Seems a very odd move imho

Let's hope for a good outcome from the talks, there's a lot of people who's only wish will be to return home and rebuild at this point. I hope they get that chance solner rather than later!

I don't forget any conflicts Everest, i don't think the rest of the World do either. A lot of propaganda does appear to rely on people having short memories and not being able to see the other sides concerns.

It would be a far better World if nothing like this happened, but, we're evidently still stuck in a power game loop.

I'm hoping those talks happen today, the ceasefire begins and they slowly work their way to an outcome which ensures peace and security for all involved.

A ceasefire would do as a start from the first meeting Sleepy0wl. You should have it in place for talks regardless, to show that both sides are truthfully willing to come to the peaceful solution that the talks set out to achieve. All we can do is wait and see and hope that it takes the logical route to peace.

That's it Sleepy0wl, in other conflicts we've seen troops roll in to theatres and entire population areas be almost completely destroyed. Those Russian troops know the places they're going into are now effectively filled with armed civilians, yet, still, total destruction appears to be something that they're avoiding for whatever reason.

I would agree Everest_M87, they're posting things at both sides of the equation without any form of evident side taking. I've just seen his post of apparent Russian losses.

The propaganda is evident at both sides Everest. I see a few on that thread highlighting what is said in the clip.

If i'm honest, some Russian troops don't appear to want to be there. Running out of fuel, clips of tanks stopped by Ukraine police and public. If they're real they would indicate that some troops are actually demoralised and don't want any part of what is going on. I mean it's hard to ascertain any specifics, but, things don't appear to have went 100% accordingly to plan so to speak.

I just hope the talks take place and this all ends and the people of that area of the World find long term peace.

There's Russian officials in Belarus ready for talks, the Ukraine guy wants a different location however.

By the way, i'm completely against the invasion, i'm against all wars and conflicts. I simply attempt to rationalise each sides thinking in these situations and what has lead to them thinking how they do.

Last i read was that one side wants Belarus and the other side wants Poland. Hopefully they agree very soon, they ceasefire takes place, talks begin and a solution is put in place.

Well dealer, that's just how it is. Just look at historical conflicts and then remember all of the people who have been labelled 'bad men' to date.

We want peace and democracy, but, only if it is us in charge of everything . . . . . . the biggest fault with it all.

Russia's stance is very simple at this point, they categorically do not want NATO or any other weapons around its Eastern border. You can tell that it's 100% the case due to what they have recently stated about Finland and Sweden.
What that shows is that there is zero trust or respect between the two sides and Russia will do all that they can to ensure no NATO weapons are at their border.

With Ukraine, we can only hope that the talks that they seem to be wanting to get in place lead to a ceasefire and a stable peaceful end to this current situation.

If he predicted it back then, there has clearly always been the potential for this situation to happen.

All you can do is hope that ceasefire and peace happens soon for the people of Ukraine.

Russia must be taking heavy losses with this invasion imho, i don't think it's all carnage just on Ukraine's side.
