RE: Not looking good.11 Nov 2023 11:49
Asos is only a trade for me, so no rose-tinted glasses here, and I take your point about the level of shorts, too.
But the level of buying by the main holders here, even after the most recent update...while nothing is certain of course, makes this a very interesting play IMO.
As to those US names you mention, especially Nvidia, well, at some point fundamentals will start to apply to those outfits.
I agree they are unlikely to go bust anytime soon, but if you only just bought into those ones recently, rather than say 12 months ago or so, then IMO you might find that you would have been better to have waited a bit longer.
The ETF cash inflows that mostly go into the big names across the Pond, creating these huge distortions, sooner or later will reduce. And not necessarily that slowly or gradually either, when the worm turns, IMO.
But who knows? As the current valuations of those stocks prove, the markets can stay irrational far longer than most people can stay solvent.
But as you also say, we all need to do what makes us comfortable at the end of the day.
So you sound like you made the right decision for you, which is all that matters.
Good weekend all and let's see what next week brings...
