Sorry to hear that. All too common on AIM. GLA in your future activities.

While I absolutely think the government should be doing much more to make the UK a more investment-friendly place, these recent AIM cancellations, if the trend continues, will require rapid state intervention.

I have no comment to make on this particular name, as I am unfamiliar with them (apart from just having read that RNS), but my overall impression of AIM directors is almost entirely negative.

Most pay themselves stupidly large salaries, irrespective of company performance; there are far too many examples of irregular trading patterns (especially just before good or bad news) and not nearly enough done by the authorities to tackle it, IMO.

To repeat - I am not making these accusations against this company - I have no idea if any of the above applies to this one.

IMO, right now, it looks like this is being used as an excuse for some outfits to keep the rewards of future success to a far smaller number of investors (especially freezing out small PI's) - many whose holdings in these types of outfits will be in ISA's - and therefore not in a position to transfer holdings over to a private listing, should they so wish to.

As a holder of several AIM stocks myself, this is starting to look troubling. It is one thing if an AIM holding goes bust (had a few of those!) - the risk you take with micro caps - but if this is going to start happening with those AIM outfits that are actually solvent, then this is one of the rare occasions where I would support more government intervention in business.

What are the thoughts of others here?

Agree. Not least because talk of real Songwe value is simply for the birds right now.

Offer to sell it to China. Let it be known in the media that this is being considered.

Then perhaps 'our' team will show some backbone and ensure the win for our side. A victory for us geo-politically and as shareholders.

I doubt it - the form clearly says when the notification was received by the company - and typically (pretty much always, apart from this example, as far as I personally have seen) it is within a couple of days of the date of the transaction itself.

I am pretty sure that I commented on this irregularity back at the time on here, but it was so long ago now, I cannot remember.

As long as the comments are within the guidelines, I fail to see the problem.

He is not the only one (I can think of at least one more - not me!).

I was in the same stock as that person for a while. Very knowledgeable and a real benefit to the chat board. As far as I am aware, they probably lost (a lot) of money in that particular investment (I lost a bit myself), but have clearly done very well elsewhere over the years.

The long and short of it is that HNW's make successful and unsuccessful investment decisions. Like the rest of us, although those who made their money in the stock market are statistically likely to get a lot more right than wrong, you would imagine.

It would be interesting to know if I.K has got all his shares in his SIPP, or if he has some/lots in an ISA or ISA's as well.

Anyway, I still have no position here now and mind unchanged on this name, but I saw that comment and felt compelled to voice my disagreement with the sentiment. Less government, sure, but not less free speech :)

IMO, from a technical perspective, it is more important that you stay above the 50 DMA for at least a few days now, rather than thinking about breaking out above the 200 (although a confirmed break above the 200 would be very bullish of course).

I think shorts are going to keep on attacking this one until the April update. Concerns will linger (and be exploited) until you get that meat on the bone in the proper update, IMO.

Of no consequence for bullish LTH investors, but to the poster asking about technical opinions, I thought I would chuck mine into the mix for good measure :)

Not adding any fresh trades myself, as sunnier climes await shortly (hard to get worse than the weather here anyway) and a wholesome rest from the fun and games of the stock market will be good for the soul, if not necessarily the bank balance! GLA.

If you go to the ISA website, it says, in bold:

'Note: you cannot hold private company shares in an ISA – only those that are publicly traded'.

No good if you hold them in an ISA though (I think I am right in saying).

This one was looking like one of the very few good ones in this awful sector.

IMO, such a decision might have been more understandable had they released the update and then if the SP went nowhere for a few weeks, then taking a view.

Might have been able to raise cash without too much difficulty within a short period of time as the update and cash position to my mind was hardly dire and sentiment, IMO, pretty good for this name.

But just my opinion, from the outside. Anyway, not my business I guess.

So close to an update, waiting for this, rather than adding in the 107/108p no mans land region, is sensible, IMO.

A strong update and it might be a missed opportunity, but you could say that for any stock buying, pre-updates.

It is simply a bigger gamble. Especially in this macro climate.

But I agree buying now, rather than 108p a few days ago, would make absolutely no sense! GLA.

These chat boards would be extremely dull without the wide range of posters they have. Mary is just enjoying herself and not trying to ramp or de-ramp anything from what I have read to date, unlike a few posters whose names we are all familiar with and whose style of comments and approach follows a consistent pattern. NB: Not referring to anyone here, genuinely.

And even those ones...live and let live I say.

Anyway, as far as this one goes, keeping it on the watch list, but not temped at this price, as I said earlier.

If 134p ish is the bottom, then so be it. IMO, a retest of the year low would not be unreasonable, although I can see myself taking a nibble if it hits 132p-ish. Not desperate though, hence not buying in the 136p region. Plenty of other avenues out there that are equally, if not more, appealing, right now IMO. GLA.

I just hope she is a tougher negotiator than she looks. Should never judge a book by its cover, of course, and I have met some outstanding business people, whose meek appearances often acted to their/their employers great advantage....but that was the private sector.

I am sure there are some people of such qualities in the public sector (albeit not many, lol). Hopefully she is one of them.

IMO, the management have pretty much run out of road.

Enough cash to feed themselves and have a few research jollies for a bit longer, if the main shareholders are willing to tolerate it, but as an investment case, this brings absolutely nothing to the table now, IMO.

Yeah, I only want to see UK government involvement here if they do it the way China does.

Clue: it always ends up being a good deal for China, based on several examples that I have seen first hand in a few other African states.

IMO, it is the debt angle, Mary, which is driving the market sentiment here.

Some good stuff in the update, but not enough to justify the old trading range, let alone better, IMO.
