I have a small, highly speculative position in Walgreens. Which I bought recently.

I am essentially betting that the boss in that one is going to turn the ship around, but it is not one to bet the farm on IMO.

The reason I mention it, is because they are in the process of closing down their unprofitable stores in the US.

I think, after some more pain and a bit more time, this will yield positive results for shareholders and naturally, the company.

CARD is hopefully not going to need to do similarly in the years ahead, but it is perhaps something to be mindful of, given their shop expansion activities of late.

It is an apples and pears comparison generally, not least the difference in scale as well, but nevertheless, it crossed my mind last night.

Meanwhile, I do not like the lack of inside buying at the time of print.

But my general thoughts, as I touched upon yesterday, remain unchanged. GLA.

I liked that RNS as well. Because it gave the impression that the activist investor is not going to be at war with the BOD (as sometimes happens with these things).

As people say...they can only sell once, and the buy backs are slowly chomping through them.

I am glad to hear he said that. The US has been a graveyard for many a UK/other non-American corporation over the years.

Their markets, while generally more optimistic, and considerably more liquid, are also probably much more ruthless with under-performing names, in comparison to the UK.

I am backing him to get their act together. In fact, my confidence in his ability to do so, has slightly grown based on those comments.

...this time the head of client onboarding dumping 63K worth of stock, but not currently showing on this chat board (15.50 RNS today, transaction date of 20th September).

I had a small buy order on Friday which expired unfilled.

Going to wait for a lower price now and if it does not hit, so be it.

Must say I find all these inside sells quite irritating; To be clear, I do not think it bodes ill for the update on November 15th (I think is the date in question), but it hardly encourages outsiders to put money to work here either, IMO!

I expected an approximate retest of the lows of the morning by mid/late PM, but when the SP was around 120p in my earlier posts, I did not say anything, as it would have come across as a de-ramp.

Which is not, nor ever is, my intention with my comments.

Anyway, the fluff is not uncommon with CEO statements, but the numbers are black and white.

And to be fair, I like the way this name does not present that stuff in an opaque fashion, as some other outfits do.

I will probably jump back in for a trade, if we get close to that support level of 103p-ish in the coming days/couple of weeks. Expecting the chance to add a few more sub 100p even - if this plays out as I think it might.

To be honest, I am now less confident/less faith in the BOD than I had previously, so off the list as a potential investment stock for the time being.

But as I said before, I still think it has lots going for it and who knows? This could be the bottom and all these potential target re-entry plans may not get close to happening.

A few of the BOD's buy at least a couple of hundred thousand shares between them, and I would change my opinion and jump back in for a few myself and technicals be damned :)

I agree with most of your post content difranco, except about the trading range.

IMO there is no chance of 150p without enormous inside buying, or a bid, insofar as the next two months go.

Looking for a close above the 50 DMA today, and ideally the rest of the week. That would IMO suggest the bull thesis remains intact here...but not seeing a year high SP print after that update personally, even if that happens.

As I often say, nothing speaks louder than BOD hands digging deep into their own pockets, to back up the positive words.

Hmmm, it is a bit more than just a reaction to the wage increase though.

When I first bought in here, I said the dividend was the cherry on the cake, not a driver for my investment.

In truth, I would rather see debt paid down as a priority, but since they decided to bring it back, they cannot withdraw it again without getting hammered further by the market.

Mobico crossed my mind, back when I first took an opening stake here, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. And it paid off.

But now, looking once again with fresh eyes, with debt up, it is giving me pause for thought.

Clearly, I still like lots about this company, hence why I am still posting and still pondering a return, but I am not quite as confident in the management as I was before.

Well, you should get a bounce off the 50 DMA today, but not sure you will close above it.

End of Friday, when the dust has settled, will IMO give a good indication of the short term direction of travel.

Gut feeling tells me that the 200 DMA is going to get tested at some point. In the next few weeks perhaps.

That would be an attractive re-entry point to me, but I appreciate this is a long way off, and equally may get nowhere near to happening.

I am often a good inverse indicator as well, so the SP action will probably make this comment age poorly :) GLA.

Glad I decided to exit before earnings.

Not suggesting these results are a disaster, and the strategic partnerships remain a net positive, but those metrics IMO will see a red day today.

Need some time to look more deeply into this, with a view to considering what price might get me back on board.

Until then, and in no small part due to their lack of inside buying (and a decent amount, not a nibble), I agree that it will feed the shorts' bear narrative.

As well as limit how much PI's might be willing to put into this company, when the BOD themselves are unwilling to do so.

But on fundamentals, it is IMO worth a punt, regardless of this.

Fair enough. Just a little odd, in my view, for that to have been your very first post here, going back to early 2021, when you seem to have made your first comment on this site, but never before in this name.

Anyway, good luck with your other investments. Naturally I hope that you have got your timing wrong in leaving at this point, but I can see some compelling arguments for the bear case, while being on the other side of the trade myself, at the time of print.
