My main hope is that the slater FD will re run the figures and JLP will drop the deal.. given the buyer was offered the business, they won't make a counter offer.. they will just walk away..

What I don't understand is, when the initial approach was made, why was the market not informed?.. how can they have worked and agreed a deal?.. there would have been an opening offer and then FDD to support the offer before it being binding.. that can take a while.. an exclusivity period would have been granted.. as now other parties will know JLP are selling.. they might make an approach.. it just seems very odd.. feels like they offered the business to someone rather than the other way round

The uplift in earnings could be higher than the first year payment received on the sale of SA business lol.. i wonder how JLP will package this up.. try and down play SA when 8 months ago leon was excited to demonstrate the step change in earnings
