IMO both scenarios unlikely because FXPO mine is not of any particular strategic importance.

The west is forgetting that the Russian are some of the best chess players, and would be better if a least they will save their face and sit at the negotiation table asap. Recent escalation with mid range missile is Biden curs and the corrupt Zelensky taking advantage for its own interest.

I am hopeful that with Trump in power things will change, although I now wonder if also he, as gone in the books of the paymaster or egotism and corruption.

Is my understanding that the majority of Ukrainian for one reason or another, would be very happy to give up Russian current occupied territories.

I do believe it would be the best solution for all parties and probably, if there was a referendum, before Russian invasion, these territories would have chose to be with Russia.

Europe and US leaders were taken by surprise when Russia invaded, and for not having to deal with their hypocrisies and double face selfish interest, they had to play along Zelensky games, war games. IMO is because Biden (the bitter looser) wanted to leave for Trump administration a very difficult task to deal with.

Tricky125 no worries bro, some people like to see what is convenient for them, select forgetting is a coping mechanism, sing of mental illness and psychosis.

Unfortunately these are traits found in many western leaders and pro-west commentators.

Another sad trait of mental illness is called regression, often it show in the way for example, a mature or old man dresses like a juvenile, but it can show also in the way people behave and what they say.

For example the current sad and grave situation with the war in Ukraine, might revive in some individuals memories of when they were playing war with soldiers at the age of 5 or earlier. Hence you get comments like, who is going to win and lose, which is the stronger etc...

I was yest yesterday having a conversation with a Nigerian friend about this subject.

Indeed the British empire happened because or the will of few people "the royals". Same people that were keeping Britain population under a kind of dictatorship. But even to these days not much as changed "unfortunately" this is most evident in the way the British Government acts. Is funny that in a so called Democracy able to use the tool of referendum, the Brits have a referendum on Brexit (which should be a economical decision matter for the Government, not for the people) and for decision like should we go to war against Iraq or shall we arm Zelensky, the Brits population have no say....this is crazy. In an ideal world moral decision of war or indirect aggression, IMO should be for the people of a Nation to decide, and difficult economical decisions should be left for the elected people which in theory are also the one that should have enough education to chose the best solutions.
