Hexam - tbh i may be wrong in my thinking, but you could surely offset the whole debt pile as a loss on the books against profits for next few years? And also have a business that shows alot of promise for this year or next returning to pre pandemic revenues. And perhaps profits in the next few years when they can re float the business on the NYSE when in better position and make billions from the shares?

Metom - the guy is wrong, streaming has proven to be a massive failure. Also new cinematic window in place and everyone reverting back to cinematic release being the most profitable.

Hexam, a big studio could purchase the debt to use it to lower their tax bill for instance making it effectively free for them to take over

I just dont see why they would be looking to sell their cinemas with the lineup thats due this year should be well on way to recovery. Still dont think thats fiest option, maybe something else comes first.

This is where it gets confusing, Cineworld have now said no such talks have took place, and if they were to have, they wouldnt be for parts of Cine but the company as a whole. Now they say this..

"Cineworld has not initiated and does not intend to initiate a separate marketing process for the sale of any of its assets on an individual basis. Furthermore, any sale transaction for the Group as a whole would not include the sale of Cineworld itself and would therefore not be subject to the rules of the Takeover Code."

Im still hopeful that continued good attendance figures will lead to an exit of chapter 11 that doesnt completely wipe us out. Maybe im fooling myself as it seemed a bit dodgy that lenders were refusing to lend any more money all year and allowed Cine to get to just $4,000,000 cash on hand only to stump up $1.96bn on first day of Chapter 11, kind of seems like they have an idea what they wanted/& were willing to continue lending but have used Chapter 11 as a way to slimline the business and cut out the crap leases they were stuck with from the Regal acquisition. Ever hopeful they just needed to buy time to get through the quiet period and will allow us to emerge relatively unscathed when figures show debts are manageable.

Wish everyone all the best, but im not going to worry personally. Not good for the health :) the main damage has been done and iv been lucky to average down to what i think is a manageable level. Hopefully everyone eventually comes good.. apart from shorters and naysayers who said streaming would kill cinema.

Because they work out buys/sells in a dodgy way.. say im looking at selling a large quantity i set my price higher so as people buy them they are registered as buys because they are paying top end of the spread.. but i still have more to sell so i continue to create a barrier/lid on the price. After iv sold a majority of what i need gone i then dump a larger amount and knock price down.. we see it repeatedly and still doesnt register for some whats happening

Most of us have been effectively wiped out, a few % here and there doesnt make much difference. Only the outcome of the chapter 11.. if you are only in for short period looking for a few percent i dont see how you can moan in all honesty? We were at 2p the other month, so still looking better than then
