My ex always worked nights.
She said she would sit and talk to some of them way into the night.
Learnt all about them more than if she had worked days and had little time for each resident.
She used to tell me the stories they told her about their lives and it’s mad to think in a lot of ways, they are no different to ours, even 50 years or so later.
Anyone how can do that job and not be affected by it is a robot or just weird.
They deserve much better than what they get.
I hope things change for the better after this crisis and people start to appreciate what these people do for all of us

What people don’t understand is that care workers get attached to the people they look after.
My ex partner did the job for nearly 20 years.
Every time one past it was like she had lost family.
It got to the point it was affecting her and she was depressed.
She used to do a shop each week for biscuits and decent tea bags because the crap the home supplied wasn’t fit for pigs.
When the owner kicked the residents out and converted the home to private flats she packed it in.
Devistated her.

It is a complete joke.
My niece rang and Said she couldn’t get food for her and her two kids in Rochdale. Asked if I could run her around to try and find something.
She’s a care assistant and doesn’t drive.
I ran her 3 miles down the road to where I live and she got everything she needed to tied them over until Tuesday when she’s back in work.
Selfish scum with overflowing trolleys stocking up while she wipes their elderly parents arses and struggles to get by.
I told her to give up the job and I’ll cover her wage but she wouldn’t do it because she cares about the people she looks after.
Proud of that girl.
